Response from 0800handyman - West Berkshire:
The client stated that the work was subcontracted. This is incorrect as 0800Handyman is a franchise and is licensed to local franchises. The cheque was made payable to the local franchisee - Pendle Handyman Ltd but could have also been made payable to 0800Handyman. The client stated that our handyman "had no idea he was a Checkatrade member". He was totally aware as much of our work is through Checkatrade. What he actually stated was that he had run out of evaluation cards. Regarding the quality of workmanship score, the handyman completed the work in less than 1 hour and the curtain rail was strung and the smoke alarms installed. For the score stated I would have expected hardly anything to be done as requested by the client. All of our work is guaranteed and we will always return should the work be not up to standard. This is clearly stated in our invoice. We received no call back from the client.
