Works commenced on 31 Jan and completed 1 Apr. We chose A1 due to the fact they employ their trades directly rather than sub-contract and the work they had performed on our neighbours bathrooms. Initial quote was generated around October 2010 and we amended it several times until we were happy with what we were asking for. Mark was patient with us, not pushing for an installation date or to sign it off. Once we were happy with the (very comprehensive) quote and images we agreed a date for the work to start. At the same time we also had Andrew design and plan the kitchen design. Again, patient with us as the design grew based on what we were after and no push to sign anything until we were completely happy with what we were after. Works commenced on 31 Jan and completed 1 Apr. The first thing that the workmen did when they arrived was to lay down protective dust sheeting to protect the carpets. They were usually in by 08:30 every day and gone by the time we got home so that we were not disturbed by them. As we occasionally work from home we met most of the team at some point and all of them were polite, friendly and professional. We did have a small issue with the main bathroom as we discovered while having it installed that the toilet we had ordered would have resulted in it being too close to the wall. Martin (the main person installing our bathrooms) and Mark worked with us to get a solution that worked for us. We also added an additional shower pump in which was quoted for before we agreed to its installation. I'd also like to make a call out here that Martin is someone who puts quality and customer satisfaction first and we are really grateful for his eye for quality work. The guys who did the kitchen did their best to leave us inconvenienced for the shortest possible time (we were only without a kitchen sink for about a week while the granite work tops were being made). Great team. Very happy with the installation and all completed within my deadline.. Although A1 were the more expensive quote they were chosen because they could do everything involved in the refit, including the Karndean floor fitting, and the end results show it was worth it. Starting with the excellent sales support from Mark in defining the refit with my numerous iterations. Through to the tradesmen who were punctual and tidy, in particular Lee for his installation management and Simon who did a grand job at hiding the pipework, fitting and finish. I felt really comfortable with the people involved in the design and installation of my new bathroom; so much so that I had left them the keys and the work was completed in my absence. The payment of final 10% of the total invoice price was held off until my return and acceptance of the job. If I had another bathroom at the property (which I don't), I would have had it redesigned and fitted by A1 Bathrooms. Well done!
