I can highly recommend ACE VAC. Rob Hudson was such a nice guy, explaining everything he was doing. He was punctual, polite, did not make any mess at all (which I was worried about). Very friendly - a joy to deal with. If anyone is looking for a chimney sweep don't look any further - call him. In fact I have already given his number to a couple of friends of mine.

Work carried out a day later than originally planned but kept up to date. All work fully explained and Rob and his colleague worked very hard on the day to get the job right. Won't know until the cold weather how effective work has been but very confident and intend to use this firm again for all sweeping and other chimney related work.

Although delayed by a previous job Rob phoned well in advance to tell me about the delay and re-arranged for later that day. Great job done and he also gave me the advice I was hoping for about the options for a new fire place. We had a great chat about his blacksmith work too. A great professional and nice guy as well.

Although Rob had to cancel the arranged appointment to sweep our chimney, he did turn up the following evening in half a foot of snow and arrived early. He did a very good job, was very tidy and pleasant. The best judge of character, our family dog, thought he was great and wouldn't leave him alone. I would recommend him.

I am very impressed with the service I received from Rob. I thought I would need a lot of work done to my fireplace to get it into working order but Rob (without knowing in advance what may be involved) was able to adjust the sizing of the grate so that the existing 'front bit' of the fireplace (that has never fitted) slotted right into place. He swept the chimney and the fireplace was ready to use the same night! After living here for 5 years thinking that I would need to have a 'front bit' commissioned to fit in order to get the fire working, Rob has sorted this out for me in less than 2 hours. I cannot thank him enough and found him very easy to deal with. If only all tradesmen were as helpful the world would be a better place :)
