I come from a family of engineers, so this type of work is part of my life. I have always tried to repair broken things and along with my engineering education it appears that I manage to repair most things.

My specialist areas are Gas and Plumbing. I will fit or repair a gas appliance, fit taps, correct central heating faults.

I don’t believe things don’t work without a good reason. Boilers and pipes are not magic; they are very predictable; so I aim to apply intelligent understanding and logic to problems.

I admit to looking for problems ie breeches of the gas or water regulations. Some folk find that annoying but that is my remit from the Gas Safe Register et al. It’s my job to point out what is wrong and solve problems.

I am a member of the CORGI competent person scheme so I can certify work for you that your local Building Control would have to certify in my absence.

Central heating control wiring is a speciality of mine. I like to think I can fix most faults and of course I am pleased to install the latest programmers, programmable room thermostats and wireless devices.

To assist me I have accumulated an array of specialist tools for gas and plumbing work.

New programmable room thermostat and new valve on toilet overflow

As landlord of the property concerned I was introduced to Mr Ford by my managing agents. I have found him to be very thorough, with excellent communication skills, giving clear descriptions of the work needing to be done. He has been very helpful to my tenant and kept us all informed as the work progressed. He left the work area very neat and tidy and the final cost was less than expected. Boiler service and general maintenance

Stephen Ford is a highly competent plumber/engineer. His knowledge about the job is second to none. He provided very clear explanation of the problem and what was needed to resolve the matter.
