Water was dripping in ground floor ceiling but actual leak was at top floor. Omar persevered and found the leak very quickly based on the leak location. Omar repaired the leak very efficiently. Great service and would defiantly recommend to others. He fixed our stop-cock which was seized and replaced the ball valve in the cold water tank and put in a valve so I could isolate the water tank in case of future dramas! He was polite, friendly and informative and happy to show me what he was doing. We found Omar through Check a Trade having had a couple of local plumbers attend and run away at the scale of job. Our heating system was in dire need of work having been without maintenance for 7+ years (Yes we were naughty!). He was very quick to respond to our enquiry and came round the same day to quote for the work. He gave us options and explained everything in a language we could understand. The work was carried out on a date and time to suit us. He and his colleague worked long hours to ensure the disruption to us was minimal. He is very polite and kept us informed throughout. The quote was competitive and comprehensive. We were briefed on all costs throughout and the final cost was the same as the quote. Omar answered the phone quickly and having explained the problem said he could be round within 20 minutes as he was luckily just down the road. He was better than his word taking just over 15 minutes to arrive and within 15 minutes of stepping through our door the problem has been found and solved!! Actfast by name and Actfast by nature.  We were so impressed that we are going ahead with the installation of thermostatic valves next week - at OUR request not Omar's suggestion. I cannot praise Omar highly enough - simply superb!

On the first visit I paid a deposit for parts. The next day they attended and charged for parts required to fix the immersion element and pump. This did not fix problem with the boiler and said that he would order a replacement stat. Two days later he phoned for the boiler number he had omitted to take which then left me with 4 days without heat. He said that the part would arrive on the Friday (3 days more). On Friday we had to contact him to ask where he was, He said it was unlikely the part would arrive until Monday. He was told we would make other arrangements as we could not go any longer without heating, he did not respond but phoned on the Monday to say he was coming to fit the stat. Another engineer advised that it was a faulty gas valve and that the stat would not fix it. A new boiler was fitted and the trader refuses to refund the money and has produced no evidence of this which in any event we feel was his own fault for forgetting to get the boiler number. We were also not told he retained deposits and we feel that the money was diverted towards the purchase of this part when it was given for the immersion parts. He also mis-diagnosed the fault and the boiler still would not have worked.

In response to the customers comments,I arrived at the property late evening to find that the boiler wasn't working,caused by a broken pump. I retuned to following day with new pump,fitted and boiler fired up! After 20mins the boiler stopped working! Which was caused by the Boiler stat overheating! Out of goodwill I returned on Sunday to replace the broken element,as the customer was expecting guest from aboard that day. One of my main reasons of joining Checkatrade was that it encourages tradesmen to give the best of there ability to upkeep his reputation! Being in the trade for more than ten years,I knew that particular boilers gas valve was obsolete.The part had to be ordered,and took longer than expected to arrive. I feel what should had cost for a new stat, has cost a boiler,which didn't need to be replaced.I believe in honesty! another good reason why I trust in Checkatrade!

The plumber came made checks and then said he will charge an amount and did this without an providing an estimate. I have lost all credibility. I then had to ask another plumber to stop the leakage who only charged a very small fee . In my opinion I feel that this companies charge for changing a tap were expensive and unreasonable.

I cannot praise Omar enough for his obvious in-depth knowledge of his trade, his pride in his workmanship, his cleanliness around his work, his friendly advice and exceptional all-round attitude. I was given good sound advice regarding plumbing maintenance (no sell) and Omar stayed until the job was fully completed - no nipping off to do other jobs in-between. My rather elderly and unmaintained downstairs loo had stopped flushing. Omar came round, arriving a mere ten minutes after I had called him. He sized up the job, gave me a very acceptable price and slipped off to get the necessary part (basically, the entire innards of the cistern). He returned very quickly to install and finish, then tidied up absolutely completely, leaving behind a working toilet and a fully satisfied customer. All complete within 80 minutes of my original call!

Omar arrived within an hour of my call (having given me a ring to tell me he was on his way) to scope the job, then acquired the necessary replacement unit later in the day on the way back from another job booked ahead of mine. He then worked efficiently, skilfully, tidily and cheerfully, for more than two hours, to install my new shower unit, in a bathroom that is more than a little cramped, and with the wiring and water supply being somewhat unconventionally arranged. The final result was, a working shower, in a clean bathroom, followed by a fully reasonable bill that matched what had been quoted at the outset, and, of course, a happy customer. I thought his work was excellent. I would be happy to recommend Omar to anyone and I shall certainly use him again when the need arises.

A friendly, courteous and helpful plumber! Omar kept his promise to phone prior to arrival, and came on the day he promised to. The work took longer than expected, but that wasn't Omar's fault. He kept me fully informed about what he was doing and seemed to be very knowledgeable. He was very fair when it came to how much time he charged for the work. Also, when discussing the possibility of replacing our shower, he even suggested LESS work than I had originally envisaged - i.E. Keeping the existing shower. So, overall, a very good service. We contacted Omar Friday lunchtime for advice re gas boiler and hot water. Fearing the worse, Omar attended within one hour to shut down gas boiler system and instructed us to use electric emersion until a scheduled appointment for Sunday. Provided advice to monitor system and advised to contact him if further problems. Omar and Kevin brought forward their Sunday appointment to Friday evening. Provided courtesy call before arrival. This is the second time Omar's been called out this year to attend to our dreadful 5 year-old plumbing. Big chrome ladder radiator broke its cheap plastic moorings and fell off the wall at 9am today, ruptured pipes, flooded bathroom. Panic. Called Omar at 10am. He arrived at 11am. Difficult job; had to cut through wall from other side for access to pipes. New radiator bought, fitted and working by 4.30pm. 5+ hours solid work. Expensive? Obviously, but worth it. 10/10. Firstly, thank you Omar for helping us today. Omar came around very shortly after my husband telephoned him. He was able to fix our mixer tap upstairs and the workings of the downstairs toilet, but the awful design of our toilet and an unsatisfactory initial installation meant that this was time consuming to sort out. Had a very old galvanized water pipes for cold water feed for bathroom upstairs and could have been the reason for very low pressure for cold water.
