Erected scaffolding to front of house.

Very disappointed. They damaged our driveway throwing metal parts down from height when dismantling the scaffolding. They promised to fix the damage but 4 months on I have failed to do so. I am going to start proceedings through the small claims court for damages.

I was most disappointed to receive my first negative comment in my 5 years as a Checkatrade member and I appreciate the opportunity to present my side of the story. It was unfortunate that whilst dismantling the scaffold at the property that damage occurred to a step on the driveway, not to the whole driveway. A scaffold fitting had cracked a tile. As soon as I was made aware of the damage, I responded immediately by sending a builder round to the property to inspect and rectify the problem.
After spending many hours searching, the builder was unable to find a replacement tile which matched the faded shade of the other steps. Therefore, the customer agreed that a matching tile from the back garden would be used as an alternative.
Due to the customers personal reasons my builder could not return the week that was arranged, so I waited for him to let me know when it would be convenient for the builder to return. The next contact I received however was an email to say that he had carried out the repair himself. I therefore assumed then that this was the end of the matter.
It was unfortunate that on this occasion, a small amount of damage occurred however; I responded immediately and was ready and willing to ensure that this was rectified at the customer’s convenience.
