Laurie visited our house on the same day I had phoned him to give me a quote and he gave a commitment to complete the work within a week. He arrived on the day promised and did a great job. After my initial contact Andy came round very quickly to quote and gave us a clear concise quotation. He was happy to give advice and didn't just quote for what we wanted but gave us his professional opinion on the best way forward. Andy was able to diagnose the problem over the phone but still came round to double check the status of the boiler a few days before undertaking the work. He arrived early on the day and the work was completed with the boiler working again very quickly. He left instructions on the new boiler part and explained everything very clearly. I had booked Algas to service my boiler, but before the date had arrived the boiler broke down, leaving us with no heating. Andy managed to fit in a visit the next day, fixed the problem and did the service, all for the price originally quoted. Andy and Laurie are great guys and did a good job installing the new boiler and associated pipe work. The quote they provided was very reasonable, and if anything they should talk themselves up a bit more as they also installed a Magnaclean and a lime scale inhibitor which wasn't shown in the quote, and which other companies may add on as an 'option'. The timer they fitted was a 'One Day' type, so when I called Laurie and said I would prefer a 7 day timer he was around the next day changing it with no extra charge. I would thoroughly recommend them, and about the only slight niggle I had was that they were a bit slow in responding to their e-mails!

We required the removal of a warm air heating system and installation of new central heating system within our home. We contacted several plumbers to obtain quotes and came across Algas via the Checkatrade website. Quotation. I contacted Andy to obtain a quote and he returned my phone call promptly to arrange a visit and quote accordingly. Andy arrived on time and we discussed the various boiler options, in particular re-siting our new system boiler within our bathroom airing cupboard. Andy answered my questions with clear simple replies and did not propose any work over and above that which was required for the installation. Andy provided his quotation promptly and his email quote came at the mid range in comparison with others. I stress however, that I queried the cheaper plumber quotes obtained and was not happy to proceed further with them. Andy revisited again with his colleague Laurie and confirmed the finer details prior to installation and duly provided a full written quotation as requested. Installation. Andy again arrived promptly with Laurie and wasted no time at all in starting. Both Andy and Laurie are hard working professionals and the quality of their work is of a very high standard. The job itself was a 3 day job which was planned around other work we were having done to our home, they were both tidy and kept us informed throughout. Once the work was completed, Andy and Laurie tested the system and also ensured that I understood how to operate the new system boiler controls before leaving. Summary. We would recommend both Andy and Laurie to undertake any major/minor plumbing work. They are both hard working professionals and trustworthy to get the job done. In our opinion, their price was reasonable and more importantly the quality of work of a very high standard. They are both very friendly and genuine in providing a 1st class service. After such a major job, we would have no hesitation in using their services again and recommend
