Andrew resolved the wiring issue and explained to me how it worked and also found that my dimmer switch had blown as well (which I would never have thought of checking!). Had a problem with a main RCD on my fuse box constantly tripping. Spent six months back and forth with British Gas trying to solve this issue (as I have a contract with them). They convinced me that the problem was to do with my under floor heating controls and as they didn't support my under floor heating it wasn't their problem. So, I eventually decided to phone Andrew Penty because of his CheckATrade reputation. Andrew seemed to have more diagnostic equipment with him than I ever saw British Gas using to track this problem down. After a few hours of troubleshooting Andrew put together a temporary solution of moving the boiler onto its own dedicated circuit on my fuse box. This solution was in place for two weeks and I did not have the RCD tripping problem again. In two weeks Andrew came back and made the solution permanent. Needless to say the issue wasn't the under floor heating controls that British Gas told me it was!!!!  (Makes me wonder if the contract I have with British Gas is worth the paper its written on!!) The only reason I have given Andrew an 8 for reliability and time keeping is because I had to phone him on the day of the appointment as he hadn't arrived at the due time. Andrew told me he had lost my address and number and was hoping that I would call him.  Within 10 minutes of me phoning him, Andrew had arrived at my home.
