In response to the customers comments. We are grateful for their input and high scoring we are a little bit saddened that they felt that they had to put on our report the details about the cable, light, wall and brick pier. In my defence I did bring it to the customers attention before starting that the brick pier was damaged and we repaired it for them at no cost. The wall was extremely old and had been built on the concrete original driveway which we cut around to minimise damage which was explained before starting. We did advise them that the wall should have been built on its own footings. There was slight damage as expected but we did repair it without cost. The NTL cable was sitting in the expansion joint of concrete it should be at least 300 deep not 3cm's it was repaired next day but but the customer wanted it to be diverted anyway so that was fate. With regards to the light being broken, the grab lorry did try to be careful but it was tight and we did reimburse that cost so the customer could purchase a new one. We are sorry if these things caused you any distress but some things are hard to avoid, others just happen, the important thing is that they were corrected instantly or as soon as possible. We would like to thank the customers for their custom they were both lovely people and it was a pleasure to work for them.

In response to the customers comments above, I feel that I have done everything I can to resolve this matter. We were employed by the customer to install a driveway, and on completion of the works the customer mentioned that some of the blocks were uneven. The customer contacted Brett’s to come and inspect part of the block work and Brett’s reported back to me that this was due to a manufacturing fault and found some of the blocks to be outside their tolerances for height. Once I received this information, I returned to the customer to resolve the problem immediately. At no time is it my intention to cause distress to my customers, if they have a problem I will respond straight away. I feel disappointed that this customer would not recommend my company. I have won many awards for my workmanship, and feel that my previous recommendations speak for themselves.

Response from Arun Driveways:
All estimates are supplied in writing. I am an easy going person and I take people at face value, the customer had already measured the driveway and was insistant that his measurements were correct, therefore I did not take measurements myself, unfortunately the driveway turned out to be 30m2 bigger than the customer measured. The additional costs incurred were borne by my company not by the customer.

Checkatrade View:
The issue here seems to be the size of the drive. We commend Arun Driveways for footing the bill for the extra 30msq, even though the measurements were given by the customer. Well done Arun Driveways.
