I installed 2 x Velus windows, replaced some missing roof tiles and erected scaffolding to do the job. All this was itemised in my estimate and accepted by the customer. I have contacted Trading Standards and the Federation Of Master Builders who have confirmed to me that my estimate was ok and not excessive and should be paid. This customer was expecting a whole new roof and as my bill was only for £1725 plus VAT this would be impossibe.My estimates made no mention of reroofing and the work was carried out as the estimate stated (the customer wrote to me twice accepting the work as stated on the estimate). WEe made no extra charge for extra clay tiles used. The roof does in fact need renewing with felt and battons which is one of the reasons for a draught in the loft space. Customer was notified of the condition of the roof and she also asked for an estimate for new guttering as it also leaks in places. She later accused us of causing the leak which is untrue. She also accuses us of breaking the wall, but we did not erect the scaffolding, this was done by a specialist scaffolding company. I do not like the customers bad attitude towards the whole thing and they have not given us the opportunity to call back to resolve issues arising, they in fact tried to withhold payment.
