I started trading in 1993 as Simon Butterfield and then changed the company name to Butterfield Construction in 2000. I then became a LLP in 2004.
I have over 18 years experience in the industry and have a good knowledge of general building/ construction.
We are a family run company and try to give customers practical and innovative solutions to transform or improve their house to be at it's best.
We strongly believe in being clean and tidy to the best of our ability whilst working in and around your home.
We undertake all manor of Building work, these include Carpentry & Joinery, Plumbing & Heating, Stonework, Paving, Driveways, Conversions, Extensions to name a few. We can also offer Landscaping works & Maintenance along with our recent addition of BC ELECTRICAL to cater for all your electrical needs. We welcome drawings and specs for any construction or landscaping work but can also offer a planning and drawing service of our own via an established family member.
We have many customers who have all agreed that our works have improved their properties greatly and would use us again on future projects.

Bathroom refurbish
Very poor workmanship, pumps wrongly installed, calls not returned, no inspection to ensure work was satisfactory. Took months of hassle.

The customer accepted the estimate on behalf of her elderly parents and wanted the work carried out the following week. The sanitary ware was ordered and the merchants promised all items to be delivered on the Tuesday. The job was started and upon collecting the sanitary ware found that some items were missing and damaged. These were re-ordered which delayed the job. The pump was fitted but it did not work properly. The manufacturers were contacted and it was re-fitted as they instructed. The pump strung a leak so an engineer was called out, the fee being paid by us, and found again not to be fitted correctly. A new pump was ordered and fitted by a plumber who due to his work load took 3 weeks to do the work. Obviously, I was not happy about this, but it was out of my control. I accept this was a bad job and took a long time, these problems happen occasionally. I have complained to the merchants and was not pleased that the plumber let us all down. I have apologised to the customer and flowers were given to the customer and her parents together with a small monetary discount by way of compensation for the inconvenience caused.

Major renovation / conversion of two rooms into one
All work done quickly and to a high standard by friendly and knowledgeable staff. 1860's house threw up a number of problems which were brought to our attention and expertly resolved with only a minor [agreed] increase in price. The finished result is fantastic. Would recommend them.
