Claire Haigh became a Chartered Architect twenty years ago and set up her own business in 2002, she was joined in 2006 full time by her husband, an experienced Architectural Designer and together they formed Claire Haigh Associates Ltd. We provide architectural plans and local authority approvals for your project. We have a wealth of experience of working on both small domestic schemes and multi million pound contracts. Your project begins with a discussion about the possibilities followed by a measured survey and feasibility scheme. We will then apply for planning, lawful development certificate and building regulations where appropriate. If you need further help we can prepare a tender package, help you find Contractors and other Consultants and monitor the contract works for you. We work on all size and types of projects from roof conversions, extensions, new houses, refurbishments, flat conversions, shop and office applications, listed buildings. We are a member of a number of local Planning Agents Forum and work across much of the South East. We make a shall charge for the initial site visit to discuss your requirements and then will prepare you a free quotation for our services.

Design and planning of large extension to downstairs.

Claire really listened to what we wanted to achieve and provided us a couple of alternatives to explore. She was hugely insightful and creative in designing our final solution. The quality of the plans and input to the council was acknowledged by them to be of an very diligent and high standard. Claire absolutely did what she said, on time, in budget and to an excellent quality. I cannot rate her highly enough. We interviewed three other male architects for the assignment and none of them came anywhere close to Claire's vision and sense of "can do". Working with Claire to realise our dream was a great experience.

Design and building control drawings.

We appointed Claire Haigh Associates on recommendation of a neighbour. Claire has provided a full architectural design service and building control drawings for our two storey side extension, rear extension and loft conversion (doubling the size of the house). The service we have received has been exemplary throughout. Right from the initial consultation, Claire has provided a very personal and professional service. She guided us through the planning approval process and the submitted drawings were approved without question. During the build Claire has also been on hand to provide advice and support. Our builder (a man of at least 20 years experience in the trade) commented that the building drawings are the most accurate and easiest to work from that he has ever been given. I think that says it all.

Architectural drawings, applications for planning permission and subsequent meetings with building control and builder.

Claire was sympathetic and understanding of my ideas and worked well within the brief. We hit all sorts of problems but she was readily available to work both with building inspectorate and builders to resolve any issues as needed. She also recommended the builders I eventually worked with who were excellent. I also greatly appreciated the fact that her costs were always itemised and clearly laid out before any work was done. Would happily recommend Claire to anyone looking for a professional, timely and reasonably priced architect.

Planning, building reg and project execution advice/build monitoring

Claire worked with us to create an outstanding design for a new house where planning and building regulations were complex. She calmly dealt with planning complexity and quickly resolved issues and submitted new drawing when required. Her knowledge and expertise were also very helpful during the construction phase of the project. We have no hesitation in recommending her.

Drawn up plans for house extension

Claire's ideas were brilliant! When drawing up the plans she used the available space in a very creative way. She was thinking things through from a very practical perspective - which is very much to our benefit when using the new kitchen now. We found her pricing very affordable. Claire also has the gift of being a good listener and communicator.

Architectural services to obtain Planning Permission and Building Regulations Approval for the extension of a guest room with en-suite shower and a new roof terrace

The service included a measured survey, drawings for discussion purposes and drawings for Planning Permission and Building Regulations Approval. The company provided me with a quotation, fully detailing the work they would undertake and providing details of all the fees and when they would be payable. I live in a town centre conservation area and Claire's knowledge and experience, in this area, has been particularly valuable. She very quickly grasped what I wanted to achieve, improving on my ideas and making creative suggestions. She is very responsive and accessible and I would have no hesitation in recommending her and her company and, indeed, have already done so.

Planning documents and consultancy for complex residential extensions

Claire Haigh Associates helped us through the whole cycle of our massive renovation from planning through to final sign offs.
