My name is Andrew Knowles, I am 32 years of age and I completed my City and Guilds qualification at Bournemouth and Poole College in 2001 whilst working for a local plumbing and heating engineer to gain experience. Shortly after I qualified as a gas engineer to work on natural gas and L.P.G and then became Corgi registered.

I am an honest, hard working tradesman and I enjoy running my own business and having direct contact with my customers when they need my services. My work ranges from a tap washer to full system design and installation and anything in-between!

I have nothing to hide so I decided to join Checkatrade.com so new and existing customers can see how I run my business and maybe give me a try!

Andrew Knowles is a true professional and is always keen to give the best service/advice even if that means it is not the cheapest option. He is very experienced and to date I have never had to call him back for the same problem. He works in a timely manner and leave the house as tidy as it was before he started his work.

Checking why the central heating boilers were not getting warm. The result was replacement of the pump

We called Andy as our regular plumber was on holiday. As a result of his visit, we will be using him in future for our plumbing and central heating needs. Thoroughly recommended.

Boiler repair, pipework and service

I can verify that all the comments about Colehill Plumbing and Gas Services on this site are absolutely correct! We found Andy through 'Check A Trade' in an emergency (boiler leaking into electrics creating powercut). He kindly attended immediately (despite unsociable hours!) and speedily/accurately assessed the problem. He put temporary measures in place and was back to fix it properly the following day and do a service. Following repairs/service/re-piping, we feel confident the boiler is now operating as effectively/efficiently as it SHOULD have been if previous plumbers had been as professional. Andy is the perfect combination of effective engineer plus great communicator - he ALWAYS kept us informed (times, fault diagnosis, health and safety issues, consequences, prices etc) which was much appreciated. Charges were fair, and we will definitely use this heating engineer in future. If you read this, thank you Andy!

Capping off disused radiator, installing shower cube

Leakage from pipework near upstairs toilet causing water thru downstairs ceiling

Andrew arrived earlier than originally estimated, but phoned beforehand to see if convenient. Soon assessed the problem, but owing to type of cistern was unable to fix with onboard spares. Obtained replacement from a stockist and fitted. Notified of increased price. Happy to answer questions. May use for boiler service due in June/July. As water had to be turned off during leak - the girls were relieved they could now bath/shower for going out on Saturday night. So a big plus from them

Remove old boiler, remove old tank and pipes. Supplied and fitted new combi boiler

I couldn't of wished for a better service. Very polite, clean and no hanging around. Work very hard to get the job done and the end resault was better than I could of hoped for. Thank you !

Installed new gas boiler, hot water cylinder and replaced radiators

Andy and his colleague Dave were excellent. They were both polite, tidy and very efficient. The work was carried out to Andy's quote and within the time specified. Top marks to both of them.

New boiler, hot and cold valves and thermostatic radiator valve installation

Look no further - just ring them! Came out within an hour and diagnosed the problem which confirmed the suspicions of a previous heating engineer. New boiler required as the parts for the old were obsolete. Being a landlord, I only had 1 day available before the next tenant arrived. Andy's team installed the next day and worked until 9:40pm to ensure completion. This also included additional work due to unforeseen problems (failed isolation valves and hot water tank to be moved), and they found the time to fit a couple of thermostatic radiator valves too. I will be using the team from now on.

Installation of complete new central heating system, new boiler, new radiators, etc.

Andy installed a new boiler and radiators. All work was carried out to a very high standard and he paid great attention to detail. Andy kept me informed at all stages of the job and kept the disruption to a minimum and was extremely clean and tidy. I found Andy to be extremely polite, cheerful and enthusiastic about his work and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Colehill Plumbing and Gas to everyone I know.
