They went to great lengths to ensure an excellent job was made of laying our floor. As we wanted the wood to be laid in a continuous run throughout three rooms of differing widths it meant a hand crafted tongue had to be made to 7m of flooring to ensure the continuity. The attention to detail is second to none. Everyone who visits make positive comments on the floor. Would recommend this company to anyone seeking a high standard or workmanship.

Doug came out promptly to quote and was able to show me another property in the area where he had previously carried out the same conversion the same night. During the week the workmen left the house tidy at the end of each day and the banister was fitted to a very high standard. I cant fault his skills or craftsmanship I would recommend him and would use again.

Work was overall pleasing, but a number of problems for example not able to use front door over the weekend because lock wasn't fitted quite in line, these were sorted without fuss. But a reminder to pay 4 days after completion and we had paid 2 days after completion was a bit too soon.

Sorry not happy with the comments on this one. We got on really well with the customers so I am very surprised by the comments, for one over the weekend he stained his front door and it was fully finished when we returned on Monday, the lock cover plates etc and the lock had obviously been moved or removed for the staining to take place, It took a couple of seconds to realign, we made no comments at the time because there was no need to. As far as Chasing payments is concerned as a company we only remind customers after a week just to keep on top of cash flow etc.

Doug and his team removed an old partition wall on my staircase, removed the old banisters and spindles and replaced them with new spindles, banisters and newel posts. I am extremely happy with the work. The staircase has now been straightened and the room is much lighter. Doug also put in some panelling under the stairs for me which looks great (and very well finished off in the cupboard under the stairs too). I am very happy with the attention to detail and finish. I was unable to be there the week the work was being carried out, but Doug kept me informed and my housemate tells me that Doug and Ian were very tidy and polite! All rubbish and sawdust was cleared from the house. A pleasure to use a tradesman who takes pride in his work. Highly recommended.

Doug, Iain and Will came to repair work to our staircase that had been installed by a previous cowboy builder. They did an excellent job repairing and it now looks as good as new! They also hung internal doors for us which was done to an excellent standard. Doug Iain and Will were tidy, polite and always here on time. We would recommend them to anyone and will always go to them when we have other work to be done.

I cannot give Doug and Iain enough praise for their workmanship. Their attention to detail was impeccable, their understanding of our requirements was thorough, they constantly checked their progress against our expectations, and delivered exactly what we wanted. I could not have asked for more. My house is over 300 years old and they had the foresight to ensure that the style of the cupboards and locks complimented the rest of the house, even going as far as scribing the cupboards into the beams which was very time consuming for them but had the desired outcome for us. Over and above meeting my expectations, Doug and Iain exceeded themselves by ensuring they kept their work areas clean, they were extremely polite and professional, and managed to work amongst my chaotic family lifestyle without getting in the way. I will definitely be using Collins and Son again and would highly recommend them to anyone. Thank you.

I cannot recommend Doug and Iain highly enough. I asked then to create some highly bespoke pieces of furniture. They worked using my drawings and ideas, but they cleverly brought to my attention things I had not considered, which always enhanced and fine tuned my ideas. They make you feel that anything is possible. Their skill is tremendous, the projects were by no means straight forward! The final result of each individual project is stunning, the finest quality craftsmanship are returning to do more projects in August!
