Repointing in loft / creating hard walls.
We needed the walls inside the loft to be repointed and Nigel also suggested an alternative option to create hard walls to support the bricks better, which was also suggested by an independent structural engineer, so we went for that instead of just repointing. The work was carried out and finished on time, neatly and efficiently and Nigel was happy to answer the additional questions we had with a polite and friendly attitude. We have never encountered any of this when dealing with other people in this trade in the past, so this made a refreshing change. A job well done with a friendly approach is a rare combination.

Sanding and varnishing the wooden floors throughout the top two floors
This was one of 5 main jobs over 2 ½ months, to renovate many of the rooms on the top two floors of a house prior to me moving in. I was able to review their work on a daily basis. This job consisted of the sanding down and staining/varnishing of the wooden floors and finding replacement boards for a few of the damaged portions. My overview of their work and how I marked them is in more detail for the other more complex jobs they did. Certainly there were no issues with this job and they even did a room not in the quote as they made a mess there rebuilding and plastering a stud wall. The price was fair.

The work was exactly to the quote price. This job consisted of the removal of a stud wall and the rewiring of the lights. Removal of stud wall: quick and efficient. Conversion of an en suite bedroom into a dining room
Their reliability and likable personalities made a big job for me less of a headache than it could easily have been. This was one of 5 main jobs over 2 ½ months. This job consisted of the removal of the bathroom and built-in furniture to create a single space. It was made more complicated by the fact that one wall was structurally unstable and had to be rebuilt. Removal of existing structures: quick and efficient. Partial rewiring of the room as the electrics underneath turned out to be rather dangerous. Cosmetically good. Nigel and Dean are good natured and amiable chaps who cheerfully put up with my slight leaning towards wanting a perfect degree of workmanship.

Painting walls, ceiling, woodwork in kitchen and utility room.
We had our kitchen and utility room redone in late November, early December. Due to some issues with the work, we hadn't been able to schedule the painters, so when we were finally ready, and knowing how busy they were, we expected to have to wait until January or February for them to be available. Although this would mean we didn't have a finished kitchen before Christmas, we were happy to wait, as we've used Nigel four times before, so know the quality of his workmanship. We were delighted that they were able to fit us in. As ever, they worked hard and very quickly, cleaned up after themselves, and even threw in a quick repair to a downpipe out the back while they were here. Very happy, and will definitely use them again.
