The whole job was done in one week. James and Adam worked until late each evening. I have used James many times before and would have no hesitation about recommending him highly. James and Adam start early and hardly take a break - unlike many contractors who disappear at regular intervals! Top class.

James and Adam arrived as promised and set to work, at the end of each day they left the area clean and tidy Both worked very hard and the work was completed on time and on budget.And they offered good design ideas Very good workman and good company. Bathroom - complete refurbishment
We couldn't recommend DIY Solutions highly enough. He gave us a huge amount of advice in advance to establish what we wanted to do and helped recommended the best and most cost effective way to do things. We trusted James from the outset and he is immediately likeable and someone you feel entirely happy leaving alone in your house to get on with things. He even bought he own coffee and milk! Most importantly, we love the end result. Thank you very much!

Design and refurbish my house from top to bottom, including landscaping of front and back garden areas.
James transformed my house to a contemporary, fresh, practical home. Project executed in planned phases over past year. Work included all design; planning and sourcing. Making good / re-decoration of entire house interior / exterior. Upgraded lighting inside and out. Attic - removal of tanks, insulation, flooring. Bedrooms - installation of fitted wardrobes and units. Bathroom and downstairs WC - installation of new, inc. Plumbing. Landing and balcony balustrades - upgrade with glass panels and stainless steel top rails and stair handrail. Downstairs interior doors - new. Kitchen - miraculous re-design and installation of new, accommodating dish-washer; utilising existing carcases where practical; inc. Floor and wall tiling; inc. Plumbing. Lounge and hall - laminate flooring, designer rads., contemporary wallpaper feature wall. 2 gardens - block paving with intricate work, shale and stone features, panels (back), planting. All this, along with a myriad of associated fine details inc. Unique mirrors sourced / installed; soft furnishings; garage door locks fixed etc - things that made a difference (from both a practical and aesthetic view) to the finished look. I am absolutely delighted with the outcome. James, throughout, from planning to completion proved to be professional, patient, positive, prompt, reliable, excellent on design and planning ideas, has an arty eye and knows what works aesthetically, and is confident in his ideas and advice, in particular on colour, design, style and materials, including cost conscious sourcing. James delivered, can turn his hand to anything, has initiative, his ideas work, is knowledgeable, nothing was too much of a challenge. I found both James and Adam to be friendly, cooperative, courteous, helpful, punctual, honest and very hard working. I would recommend to others without hesitation. Complete kitchen replacement, plus fitting three rooms' worth of wooden flooring
The short version is, James and his assistant did an impeccable job and I would highly recommend them. We had an elderly kitchen that largely dated to the 1960s, original to the house: James had to tear it out back to bare walls and ceiling boards before he could even begin on the new stuff. In the process he found some really rather awful things: water pipes whose leaks had been patched with electrical tape, bizarre electrical wiring, and other landmines of DIY left by previous owners. Having made those good, repaired and replastered the walls, and fitted a new ceiling, he was only then able to get to work on the new kitchen. It was our design, but we’d gone over it with him in advance to ensure it was sensible and build able. He’d offered some useful input and advice, most of which we took; he’d also taken the opportunity to check which areas we wanted to stick precisely to drawing with, and where he should use his initiative and judgement. In particular, when it came to the tiling, we took a deep breath and let him do it his way… …The results are incredible. The new kitchen is visually stunning, and yet incredibly practical and usable. It feels about twice the size that it did previously, and is much lighter, brighter and easier to work with. His workmanship, attention to detail, and artistic imagination were all showcased superbly. Wherever he found an issue that meant he needed to deviate from the original plan, he made sure we understood the problem, the options and the solutions; on the couple of occasions that there were significant changes made, we knew what they were and why they were needed. (He also did a beautiful job of laying down wooden flooring in three rooms, but he dismissed that as easy) James was prompt, courteous and efficient throughout, keeping us fully informed as to progress and schedule. Flooring, plumbing, building and more
James is an absolute genius, works hard, fast, and can turn his hand to just about everything. Bags of initiative and "can do" approach to all he does. He is very friendly, prompt, knowledgeable, positive and does as he says he would. Quality of work is very highest quality. Rates are excellent too. Have used James for years and always turn to him to get things done. Couldn't recommend him more.
