Double D was formed in 2002. Patrick Dalton (Director) had been working in the building industry for over 30 years. Janette had an administrative background and was working in the Conveyancing Department for a local firm of solicitors and had also worked in Sales and Marketing.
Throughout the 1980's and early 1990's Patrick had run a company supplying bricklayers to major house builders in the Hampshire area. A skilled bricklayer himself, he had not only worked in the UK but also in Germany. In the early 1990's Patrick suffered a severe back injury and was forced to give up large scale projects while he recovered.
As with many small builders Patrick will be the first to admit that paperwork is not his favourite past-time. Fortunately Janette was good at paperwork but no good at laying bricks ! Thus a successful partnership was formed which later became a Limited company.
At Double D we pride ourselves on offering value for money, a high standard of workmanship and clear communication with customers. We send an Information Sheet to all prospective customers and are always just a phone call or e-mail away when a client needs information or reassurance.
If you want men in suits and smart offices we are not the company for you as Patrick will invariable turn up to see you in his work clothes, straight off site. You can be assured that for the duration of your build he will be on site to either carry out, or oversee every part of your building work from start to finish in a friendly and courteous manner. We also provide a full range of sub-contract tradesmen for plumbing, plastering, electrical work, UPVC windows and doors and other specialised services. All of the sub-contractors provided by us come highly recommended and have proven their value to us over time.
All paperwork is written in plain English and a payment schedule provided so that our client's know at all stages where they are in the build schedule.
Double D are a family firm and we understand that your home and family are the most important things in people's lives. Having building work carried out is bound to cause some disruption but we aim to make the process as stress free as possible.
We do a good job for a fair price but we are happy to provide advice completely free of charge.
