The company was founded in 1980 by Glenn Morris (BA Hons, RFS Cert Arb, Tech. Cert. Arbor. A) and now employs a large team of skilled tree surgeons able to carry out tree work of an exceptionally high standard.

From the outset our aim has been to provide a professional tree service of the highest quality for our clients from the first point of contact through all stages up to the completed work. We have grown steadily since the early days but pride ourselves on being large enough to undertake substantial contracts but small enough to ensure that each customer receives the high level of detailed personal attention they deserve.

We can take care of all aspects of tree management from tree planting, through surgery to felling and removal. We have never found a job too difficult or challenging; indeed many other tree surgery companies and landscape contractors recommend us or use us to undertake difficult or dangerous work. We have developed expertise in various aspects of tree management, including veteran trees, the protection of bats and specialist treatment of pests and diseases.

As you would expect from a company committed to the welfare of trees, Down to Earth incorporates sustainability into every aspect of its work. We aim to minimise carbon emissions as much as possible and recycle waste. Timber suitable for firewood is processed for logs; the remaining waste timber is used locally for heat generation or the chips are taken away and used as biomass to heat power stations. We also practise a policy of encouraging our clients to keep timber waste and woodchip to use for wildlife habitat purposes, which in turn reduces our transport emissions. No waste is sent to landfill.

The majority of our work arises from referrals, recommendation or is for existing clients but we welcome new customers and hope that this website will be the beginning of a lasting and happy relationship.

If you care about trees then you will care about who cares for them.
