Replacement of various doors and windows
Having just moved into a house not touched for 30 years, I obviously have a lot of work ahead of me. I was looking for a local builder to carry out some initial works to improve security and aesthetics of the house. Mr Veck couldn't come recommended enough and a quick search on check a trade suggested he was right for me. Eddie initially replaced rotten windows and doors around the house with incredibly good quality upvc items and more recently we have had Eddie chop out two window openings to fit two pairs of patio doors. He is always punctual, always courteous and incredibly tidy both through work and upon completion. I have no hesitation at continuing to use Eddie when ever possible, he has some great ideas and is always flexible enough to fit in around my shift patterns.

Single storey rear extension and garage conversion
Edd was very helpful and made some really good suggestions throughout the project. His ideas helped us keep the costs down and we are so pleased with our new look house. Edd was in touch throughout and went out of his way to help with issues even those that fell outside of the contract. All the contractors were friendly, polite and trustworthy which was reassuring. The second part of the build was done quickly with Edd fitting us in between other work, as agreed. At the end of the project up to planning sign off Edd has been available to deal with final snagging points. We are really grateful to Edd that our house now has the wow factor we were looking for.

Repairs to window shed and fence
After the severe weather Friday night our shed had lost it's roof and damaged the fence and window. Eddie sent one of his lads round (because he was in France) on Saturday morning. We presumed he was just going to do a temporary weekend fix but in spite of the weather he managed to find and fit another double glazed unit, re-roofed the shed and fully repaired the fence. Eddie insisted it was done to help us out and I should just give the tradesman a "drink". Thank you Eddie.

This customer was advised we could not do the works until November 2010; however they were happy for us to do odd days to get the work completed for them. As always dust sheets and plastic covering was used and the works were carried out professionally. I did ask for an independent builder to inspect the work carried out but this was refused. This customer also had a reduction in cost as they were reluctant to pay.

Refurbishment of existing single storey extension, including new roof
We're really pleased with the finished product. The cost was more than quoted due to unexpected issues in the refurbishment and change of requirements. Very courteous, polite and professional. Plasterers did a fantastic job and kept the place clean. EPV were accommodating and fitted us in between jobs, with the weather, it meant a 3 weeks lasted about 7 weeks. However, they had stressed up front that we would be fitted in and around jobs, so the elapsed time could be longer. They kept us informed.

Replacement back door
Our old garden door collapsed suddenly (damp, rot etc). Rang Eddie and within the week a replacement door was sourced and fitted complete with cat flap and security locks. As usual Eddie kept us informed of timings so we knew where we were. Great to have a builder like him in your area.

Rebuild retaining wall
Another great job by Eddie and his team. A section of a brick retaining wall had cracked. The boys cut out a large section and rebuilt it with new bricks. They spotted a potential problem with a smaller section nearby and dug out repointed it at no extra charge. The only complaint is that he is now so busy we had to wait nearly a week for them to start the job.

Washroom and toilet.
Eddy was very helpful in advising us on the provision of a down stairs washroom and toilet, in our garage. We were able to select certain units our selves and Eddy incorporated them into the washroom. Eddy was very obliging in this and other ways which was of mutual benefit to us and also the finished job which is now working well.

Double glazing plus replacement of fascias, soffits, gutters and downpipes
Despite difficulties due to snow and below zero temperatures plus mistakes made by the double glazing supplier, Eddie kept the whole project moving and finished well in time for Christmas. His communications during these problems were excellent so we always knew what was happening. It was impressive to see the work going on in freezing temperatures. He runs a good team and he rolls his sleeves up and leads from the front.
