Faulty Toilet - Fitted a valve
We had the horrible misfortune of having our toilet overflow. Its an old porcelain toilet. Ernie came round had a look, gave us some options and explained the positives and negatives at the same time. He also took a look at other aspects of our plumbing/heating and gave us suggestions about how best to move forward and update our systems without pressurising us to take his suggestions. He's given us the option to come and see is workmanship at other jobs in order for us to make up our mind. In the meantime fitted a valve that allowed us to isolate the water to the toilet cistern until such time as we are able to decide how we want to move forward.

Attached taps and plumbed in sink, plumbed in washing machine and connected Gas Hob
The ignition for the hob could not be connected as a socket needed to be added, this is work for an electrician. However, connecting the gas hob, safety checking, and plumbing the sink and again checking over the work, as well as plumbing in the washing machine was all carried out to a satisfactory level. Ernie is pleasant, knowledgeable and very helpful conscientious.

Investigating shower leak and a cold radiator
I rang a number of people on the checkatrade card and website and quite a few didn't come back to me:( Luckily Ernie did and he was very friendly and polite. He explained everything clearly so that I could understand what he was doing and why (I know nothing about plumbing) and what the next steps would be. He worked quickly and efficiently. I called him in the morning and he managed to come round and look at the problem that very afternoon. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and am hoping he can come and service the boiler next!

Fitted new thermostat for emersion heater
Ernie originally arranged to arrive early morning but phoned a couple of days before to ask if it would be possible to rearrange the time, which I agreed. He arrived promptly, was polite, completed the work swiftly and then explained exactly what he had done. I described another issue that my husband had identified, which we were not sure was connected to the boiler system or not, and Ernie checked this and gave me options for actions to take, without in any way pressurising me to have him do more work. I would recommend Express Plumbing to anyone requiring any boiler or plumbing work done.

Strip out existing shower cubicle, wall tiles and lining and shower valve, supply and install new valve, and shower door and make good disturbed plaster finish and re-tile.
Ernie spent one week stripping out the old shower unit and installing the new shower parts and making good the damage to the walls, including re-tiling. He worked quickly and efficiently, was totally reliable and friendly and the workmanship excellent. Aftercare service has also been excellent. Overall we were delighted with the job he did for us and would definitely use him again for any of our plumbing needs, and I would not hesitate to recommend Ernie to others.
