Farm Fencing built a cat pen in my garden so that my cat can go out and not be squashed on the busy main road, as neighbour's cats have been. The pen itself is well built and does comply with my instructions. But I was horrified and was told there would not be much dirt?!! My large foot wipe matt was completely ruined as there was a huge amount of soil/dirt/sand/mess. They replaced a broken fence panel at the bottom of the garden, yet it is NOT secure and in the wind, flaps back and forth several inches and I will have to now get some one in to rectify. Also, on the side seen from inside the house, there is an 8 inch very obvious split in the frame of the cat pen.
I did email them to say thank you for the job and to ask why they had not used dust sheets, but they have not had the courtesy to reply.

Farm Fencing were pleased to build a cat pen for our customer and were under the impression that the customer was very happy after receiving several e.mails with photos of her cat enjoying the pen and words to that effect.The Farm Fencing contractors were also told (by the customer) that the carpet in question was already very dirty and any extra dirt would make no difference, they would, however, have made every effort to cause as little mess as possible.The fence panel to be repaired was secured when our contractors left the site, however if we were made aware of this problem we would have been happy to rectify any issues immediately, unfortunately we were only made aware upon receipt if this checkatrade letter. Our contracts manager did try to contact the customer on several occasions but was unable to. The ' split ' in the timber frame is not a ' split ' but is a natural defect known as a shake in the timber, all timber merchants and sawmills will advise that this is not a structural defect but a natural process that does not affect the strength or structure of the wood and will occurr, on a majority of softwood external use timber, either immediately or after a short while.
As, can be seen by the rest of our Checkatrade feedback, we strive to offer a friendly and professional service and have done since we started trading. We also do everything possible to keep the customer happy and satisfied so that they know they have chosen the correct contractor.
