Repair broken front door lock
This was an emergency call out , and Cameron Avery attended very promptly . There was no call out charge and he did his best to minimise the cost. The repair was executed very competently. A quiet pleasant character who fully justified his inclusion in the list .

Mended jammed front door lock, and re-aligned it to work better than it had before.
Calm and clear communications throughout. Gave choices and explanations about what work to carry out. Very neat and tidy, left no mess to be cleared up. As requested, parked on our drive to avoid inconveniencing our neighbours. Polite to us and to his assistant.

Alarm system serviced and options set, security points around home checked and modified
We moved into the home a year ago where the alarm system was faulty but okay if it wasn't turned on, until it went off in the middle of the night - hence prompting the need for a service if only to shut it up! I originally whittled down my searches for a security expert to two companies - both were equivalently priced (Fidelis=£75 service, £15 for a new battery, alternate=£65 service, £25 battery) but I selected Fidelis as over the phone they sounded more helpful and knowledgeable. When Cameron arrived he was prompt, identified a that a change of battery had resolved the alarms issues, then patiently spent a good amount of time helping set the alarm systems options to my specifications, even undoing some of the options once I'd changed my mind on some of them! He then at my behest helped check the door security and resolved a couple more issues with locks not fully engaging by helping chisel out the locks to the correct degree - this was in addition to the alarm service I'd originally called him out for. I cannot stress how highly I rate the customer service that was given, Cameron was happy to spend time explaining to me my home security, with setting the alarm options and always had a friendly demeanour. The resolving of the other two issues exemplified his ability to go the extra mile in customer service. Certainly this company has been my best experience with Checkatrade yet.
