Removal of existing sun room and construction on new single story vaulted extension. Knock through from existing house and installation of kitchen.
This is the second extension that I have used Derek Moore (FBS) for. The reason I used FBS again was becuase we were extremley happy with the first job and therefore felt very comfortable using them another time. The recent extension went very smoothly, moved at pace and apart from the usual expected curve balls with extensions went very well. I would certainly recommend them.

Replacement of two windows
Derek and some of his team came to replace two upstairs windows which we wanted to match to those he installed during extension work during late 2007. Again excellent service, very prompt delivery of goods, wonderfully non-disruptive installation - almost didn't realise they had been put in, brilliantly tidy. All we need to do now is think of something else he can do.

Single storey extension
The job was completed satisfactorily, when ever we had problems these were rectified without trouble. Derek is very approachable and was on site every day for any concerns we had and was flexible to our needs. Glad we chose this company as work was completed to satisfaction. All the workers were very polite and we had no worries about them being on our property even when unattended.

Loft conversion and small extension
We have turned our 2 bedroom bungalow into a 5 bedroom dormer and slightly extended to the rear. We originally chose Derek as he presented himself as a pleasant and honest man who we felt we could work with in our first major build. Derek and his team were brilliant from the start. They were all very polite and extremely hard working. They were generally there at 7.30 every day and worked through until about 4.30. The plumber and carpenters he used were excellent also and all really nice people and very accommodating when we had changes of plan. The most important thing to us was that we had to leave our door key with Derek's team whilst we were at work. We did this with no worries or reservations at all as everyone was utterly trust worthy and the nicest people you could hope to do business with. We will certainly use Derek and his team again on our next project.

A single storey extension (c.30 sqm family room) with breakthrough into main house and installation of toilet
Derek was brilliant to deal with both before we awarded the contract, and during the work. Before we awarded the contract he was very helpful in terms of amending estimates as we defined what we were looking for and providing wider advice. When the contract was awarded the people Derek used were always on time, polite and above all good at what they did. We have a 5 year old and so it was important the people Derek used acted in the right way - which they did for the whole duration of the project. Everyone Derek used both his own staff and subcontractors were first class and I couldn't fault anything that was done. Derek was always on site at the start of every day and spent time saying what was going to be done and had discussions on questions / concerns we had and responded immediately and professionally to everything. The finished extension is brilliant and has transformed our house from outside and inside. I would recommend Derek to anyone without hesitation.

Double garage
The Foundation team removed a dilapidated single garage with asbestos roof and built a new double garage with power/lights, windows and two extra-wide doors. The new garage was built using materials which would fit in with surrounding buildings as requested by the council. An excellent job achieved in minimal time for a good price. I would definitely use this company again.

Took down a damaged chimney stack and rebuilt a new one to its original size and colour of brick
All the work was carried out efficiently, speedily and with craftsmanship. The men arrived early, worked hard and cleared up any mess before leaving in the evening. Every morning, Derek Moore would give us a progress report, and explain the plan for the day. Great care and trouble was taken to match the colour of the bricks. We are extremely pleased and satisfied with the finished chimney.

This was a major project on a period house in a Conservation Area, with strict specifications to ensure compliance with Planning and Conservation requirements. Derek, his young team and sub-contractors completed the project to an excellent, professional standard, and to an agreed budget and timescale. Derek is a professional builder who works hard to meet his customers requirements. He provides good, sensible advice and explains his approach to each stage of the work.
