The workmen were pleasant, but the owner was very abrupt and unprofessional.

15 July 2007Response from Gatwick Heating and Plumbing:
We were contacted by the customer, with a fault in one of there rooms concerning a tap, we attended that afternoon to investigate the fault. A specialized solidnoizd valve was found to have failed also the batteries on a sensor flow tap was thought to need replacing. The part had to be ordered in as they were specialized. We returned to fit the new valve and battery but the tap was still not functioning. The dentist did not wish to replace the sensor flow tap with the same as they are very expensive so asked for a standard type of tap to be fitted, the tap was then ordered and a running trap was fitted to stop smells from the waste. The new tap was obtained and we returned for the third time and removed existing tap and replaced with new. The total cost of materials was £294.00 + 5hrs labour which was charged at £50 per hr + VAT. We were not asked for an estimate, before obtaining parts required but did ask if he wished to settle the bill each time we visited, said that he would settle it when the job was completed, we provided the client with copies of the parts invoices to confirm the costs.
