I would say Darren is as good as they come with regards to driving tuition. From the first moment I sat in his car I felt relaxed and at ease, and his constant encouragement and support was a welcome change (having had a previously disappointing driving experience). Darren’s tips and hints helped me learn all the manoeuvres with confidence, and I passed with Just 2 minor faults. I would recommend Darren to anyone trying to learn to drive.

The teaching styles of Darren has helped me grow in cofidence. There is always great feed back at the end of the lesson. You leave the lesson knowing what you need to work on for the next lesson. With working with a tick list you see what needs to be worked on. Out of all the driving instucters I have had Darren has helped me the most, made learning the manoeuvers easer to remember. While driving, the atmospher in the car is really relaxed and easy going, there is no presure or stress, which helps a person who might be low in cofidence! I would recommend GDI to all my friends and family!

Darren was a fantastic driving instructor. I was really nervous when I first started driving my Darren put me at ease and was always calm and relaxed. He was also always very honest, if he felt I didn't need any more lessons he would refund the money and I didn't feel like I had more lessons that I needed. What I really think separates Darren from other driving instructors is the fact that he makes you a good driver before he starts on the exam. Lessons like the distraction lesson give you a good idea of what it will be like when you have friends in the car and what the realities of driving are. I would really advise going with Darren!

Darren really is a great teacher, his skill in relating the complexities around driving and different techniques to help me learn and build up my confidence is second to none. I passed my test first time on Friday 27th January. I hugely recommend Darren as a driving instructor.

It would be a mistake to book a driving instructor in Guildford other than Darren; he is the best you will find. Throughout my training he was patient, helpful and adjusted the lesson plan to focus on anything that needed perfecting. He trained me to such a high level that I felt no nerves during my test because I knew I could do anything the examiner asked of me. I passed first time with only 2 minor faults. I only passed yesterday and have already recommended him to a friend!

Darren is simply brilliant! I remember how nervous I felt before my first lesson and how this was instantly reduced when I found out how relaxed and patient Darren was with his teaching methods. I was a nervous driver and knew very little about driving before I started lessons but Darren's constant reassurance and support allowed me to gain the confidence I needed to drive. Darren is easy going and let me work on the areas I felt weakest on in order to gain more and more confidence. I passed with 5 minors and would just like to say another thank you to Darren for everything he has helped with :)

I hadn't driven for a few years and needed a few lessons to get my confidence back. Darren was great - really patient but pushed me enough to really regain my confidence and get back into driving again.

DARREN IS A FANTASTIC DRIVING INSTRUCTOR. He really made me feel at home in a car and his calm, reassuring attitude made driving second nature to me in a matter of weeks. His dedication to his students is unmatched and his confidence in you as a driver if you listen to what he says is 1st class. I passed my test first time with only 3 minor faults and this is a credit to all of Darren's hard work over the past few months. Even with a 9 month break for the summer, I was able to get back in a car and, with Darren's instruction, drive as if I had never been away. Above anything else, I really enjoyed being taught by Darren. Learning to drive can be a stressful experience, but with Darren's support and advice I was able to progress to test standard without any hassle. Spending so much time in a car with someone, you need to make sure you get on with your instructor. I couldn't praise Darren enough for his relaxed, amiable nature and would recommend him to anyone. Passing with only 2 faults, I am happy to say my provisional driving experience is over in just 6 and a half months. Talking with my friends who have also passed but with different instructors, I can see that Darren is a cut above the rest. He has taught me to be a safe driver for life. Thank you so much for everything Darren!

Darren is an amazing driving instructor! I passed first time with only 4 faults :) Like most people I was very nervous the first time I got into a car but Darren makes you feel relaxed and comfortable straight away. He is a reliable and professional driving instructor, but is really easy to talk to and becomes a friend as well as a teacher. He provided me with the knowledge and confidence to drive safely and correctly on my own and his reassurance and motivation was definately what allowed me to pass my test! His extensive knowledge of all things driving meant I could ask any question and get a factual and helpful answer and allowed me to broaden my driving knowledge. No matter how many mistakes you make, Darren stays calm and collected, supporting and encouraging you to correct and rectify the situation on your own which I feel is a huge confidence boost, knowing you can get yourself out of tricky situations. I am SO glad I learnt to drive with Darren and will miss my regular driving lessons which were always fun and interesting. Thank you so much Darren! Highly recommended :D

Darren is the BEST driving instructor ever!!! he taught me everything I needed in order to pass my test, but also the knowledge I need to have to be a good and safe driver for the rest of my life. I would recommend him to anybody, as he makes the lessons interesting and provides clear explanations on everything that happens in driving. He provided me with the confidence I needed in order to believe that I could pass the test, and know that I would keep a good standard of driving when im by myself. Darren made my driving lessons fun as I knew he would be patient with me even if I made a mistake multiple times. Darren is easy to talk to and I think of him as a friend as well as my instructor, Darren is the reason I passed my test, and is the reason I know I will be a safe driver for the rest of my life. I passed on August 31st 2011 with 3 minors. Darren was what I expected of a driving instructor and more. He not only taught me how to pass my test, but he taught me how to drive safely for the rest of my life. He gave me great confidence behind the wheel with clear explanations so I knew what I was doing as well as helping me with things I wasn't as good at or wasn't as confident with. This fully prepared me for my test and for life on the road. He is a very friendly person who is easy to get on with. He made lessons fun. I always looked forward to them. I highly recommend him to everyone who is looking for a driving instructor. Low prices and great service. Cheers Darren :)

An absolute pleasure to learn with, Darren has taught me very well and I am now a confident and safe driver. Despite at first fearing the day I had to drive by myself, now at the end of my lessons with Darren I am really looking forward to being able to be more independent and I feel that I can trust myself to be safe, and I have started to quite enjoy driving. He is relaxed and easy to be with, and keeps cool even in difficult situations when I may have been raising my own panicked voice. He is also straight forward and down to earth, and teaches you to be a safe driver and how to pass your test while maintaining the connection to the reality that after passing the test you will probably change some of your habits- I know how to stay a safe driver even if my habits become less than test perfect. He managed to fit lessons into my hectic schedule around college and rehearsals, and stayed very helpful and positive throughout the entire process. I learned quickly and every one of Darren's lessons were efficient and valuable. I am really looking forward to having a few motorway lessons following passing my test.

Darren is a very good driving instructor. He is very relaxed, patient and observes every detail of your driving skills. I was very grateful as he arranged time for me over the weekend and made me go thru all my weak points again and again till I was very confident. I managed to pass first time and thanks not just to his teaching but also the way he helped me to relax on the final day of the test and provide good motivation. I've no second thought in recommending his teaching credentials. My wife has also decided to take lessons from him to pass her test. Thanks a lot Darren.

Had my first driving test today and passed! And I couldn't have done without Darren, he was a brilliant instructor! He was a great person to learn with and made me into a confident driver. He made every lesson comfortable and you could have a good chat with him. I would recommend him to everyone wanting to learn to drive. Overall he is a genuinely decent person and a great driving instructor and it was a pleasure being taught by him.

Darren is a really great driving instructor, he would always explain things, but let you experience it for yourself. There was no faffing about! He always makes up for any time lost (through traffic or something) and has a lot of integrity. He is always relaxed which is really helpful because it makes you more relaxed and confident in your driving ability. He is good at boosting confidence and going at a pace that I was happy with! He doesn't just teach you to 'drive' but he goes that extra mile to make sure that you are a 'driver' who is safe on the road. He was really encouraging on the day of my test, and went over anything I wanted. I passed first time with only 3 minors! Thank you so much Darren!

Darren is an excellent driving instructor who I would highly recommend! Darren goes above and beyond expectations to set the best possible standard for his pupils. When I first met Darren, I had picked up many bad habits due to outdated information from another instructor. Darren helped me become a much safer and more confident driver using a more modern and personalised approach. After learning with Darren for a few months I have passed my test today; first time with only 3 minors! I'm now looking forward to getting back in the car with him this summer and gaining my pass plus certificate.

My son passed his driving test with Darren 1st time! We live in Fleet but my son goes to Guildford college and it made sense to do his driving lessons in Guildford as he wanted to take his test in Guildford. We searched around for a driving instructor and did what most people do - search for the cheapest. We soon found out cheapest is not the best! We booked 4 hours with a different instructor and my son didn't like the instructor teaching. I gave Darren a call and booked an introductory lesson with him. My son told me he learnt more in 2 hours with Darren than the previous instructor. So my son was happy for Darren to teach him to drive. Darren has done a brilliant Job! I went out with my son just before his test and couldn't believe how good and safe his driving was and that is down to Darren. I would highly recommend Darren at Guildford Driving Instructor to anyone! Thanks again Darren.

I came to Darren with an idea in mind about what I would like from my driving lessons and he delivered a great service. Darren was on time for every lesson I had with him and when driving he gave very clear instructions and was calm and patient about my driving errors. I was looking around for a driving instructor as I wanted to start taking my lessons a.S.A.P. A good friend of mine had recently started taking lessons with Darren and recommended him to me. So I contacted Darren and arranged my first lesson, I am glad I listened to my friend. From my first lesson to the last, Darren could always find a way to stop any nervousness and keep me calm and relaxed . He is an excellent driving instructor with a nice personality and sense of humor. He teaches with a technique that is easy to understand and follow, and I recently passed my practical driving test first time!! Thanks so much again Darren... top class instructor.

Passed My Test- When it first came to driving, I started with a different instructor who didn't really help me at all with learning to drive. I soon got fed up and decided to find a new instructor. I was recommended Darren by a friend and so I got in touch and he seemed great! He fitted me in straight away. I had lost a lot of confidence with driving and had started to give up, but Darren was the breath of fresh air I needed. He made me feel really relaxed and I learnt so much in just my first lesson! Darren really does care about what he does and never gives up on anyone! Even after I didn't pass till my third time, Darren stuck at it and didn't let me give up! Which was exactly what I needed in an instructor. My learning didn't stop when I left the car as Darren made sure I had diagrams and information which I could look over in-between lessons to help me with any worries I may have had. I would and do fully recommend him to people as he is an excellent driving instructor and is also very reliable. Thanks Again

I passed my test on Monday! I would highly recommend Darren to anyone who need' s an honest, reliable, friendly instructor, I was very nervous and didn't have any confidence, Darren made me feel at ease, I was able to ask questions and if I was unsure on anything Darren would explain clearly so I understood, the lesson's were fun aswell as informative, and each lesson was tailored to my need' s, I enjoyed every lesson. Darren is an amazing driving instructor. He made me feel relaxed and comfortable straight away. His advice was really good and clear at all times. He boosted my confidence when I was not feeling very confident. He is easy to get along with and to talk to so that no lessons were boring. Darren did an amazing job in getting me to a level where I felt confident to drive in any situation! I always looked forward to my lessons with him and I would recommend him as an instructor to anyone and everyone! He will make you confident, self-assured in the car and to a high level of driving in a short space of time! I shall strangely miss my lessons! Thank you Darren :)!

I could not have asked for a more friendly, honest, hard working and knowledgeable instructor. He has completely transformed me from a nervous, unsure driver into a happy and safe driver. He always made certain that I had everything I needed and that I really understood everything - what's more I never felt unable to ask. He has absolutely earned his reputation, and I couldn't recommend him more strongly.

Darren is a fantastic driving instructor and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. I had already had many lessons with another instructor, but lacked confidence, didn't feel like I was progressing, and generally felt very negative. After my first lesson with Darren I felt totally different. He is relaxed and friendly but clearly knows how to teach. He picked up on several things that no-one else had commented on, but stopped me worrying and gave me the confidence I needed. He seems to genuinely want you to enjoy it and learn to drive for you, rather than for because it is an income for him. If I had started with him in the first place I would have needed far fewer lessons in total!
