Gt contractors was founded by Gary Turner in 1989, after he served his three years apprenticeship in carpentry and joinery and gained his city and guilds and advance craft qualifications.

Started purely as a carpenter on site but soon found this was not suited to him and that he needed to be his own boss and working more closely with the customers.

Gt contractors was started to give the public quality work as reasonable prices, the team has changed over the years as people have come and gone but the quality has stayed the same as Gary personally works on the site to keep a tight rein and make sure the standards do not fall.

Over the years Gt contractors work has varied some what from house building from scratch to building barns, stables and offices. They have also completed several night club refurbishments over the years.

Loft conversions and refurbishments are now their main line of work together with small to medium extensions, they also do a lot of kitchen and bathroom installations.

We have a very good team working for Gt contractors all very loyal; honest and trust worthy which is so important, all our staff are experienced tradespersons. We guarantee all our work and only take final payment once the customer is completely satisfied.

Most of our work is in or around Brighton and Hove but we are willing to travel, we have completed several jobs in Ealing, Eastbourne, Worthing and Haywards Heath.

Removal of chimney breast from roof through to kitchen

Demolition of chimney right down to the kitchen carried out quickly and with minimum disruption and mess. Very pleased with work and would definitely use again.

Self Build 320m2 House In Henfield West Sussex

GT Contractors has ran as the main contractor since Oct 2010 for the entire build. I have found the Co. And Mr Turner to be very professional and has taken the stress and worry out of the build for me. Especially dealing with site professionals i.E Architects, Local Authorities and NHBC. Everything has been to schedule and to budget, any problems that have come along during the build GT Contractors have been accommodating in resolving them. I am 80% through the build and am extremely pleased by the quality and finish. Outside trades who have been contracted in to assist in the build through GT Contractors have all spoken highly of Mr Turner and his Co when asked. I will complete a final review on handover of the build.

Stripping Out Entire Large Edwardian House

Re fit of kitchen / mini extension / moving of heating boiler to loft space / removal of brick chimney from loft.

The work was completed to a high standard with minimum disruption. Gary's willingness to deal with the utility services in the initial stages was a huge help. We would recommend the company to others without hesitation.

Major kitchen / utility room / storage room refit including relocation and installation of new boiler

3 weeks work. I would highly recommend GT Contractors. They maintained the schedule even through the heavy snowfall to make sure I had my new kitchen for Christmas. They did a fantastic job ! They kept disruption to a minimum despite the major work involved with utilities and literally were cleaning as they backed out of the property at the end of each day.

Refurb of bathroom and cloakroom

Gary and his team were a pleasure to have around. Nothing was too much trouble at all. A lot of time and care was taken over the job so although the job overran by a couple of days it was in order for the work to be done right and not rushed through - definitely an approach that met favour with us. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
