New patio area.

Top class job, by top class tradesperson. Would recommend to all my friends and will use again when needed. Explained everything as the job progressed, cleared up every night. Nothing was too much trouble.

Major remodelling and refurbishment.

A major project was undertaken to totally remodel the kitchen (including the removal of a structural wall and a chimney place), the consolidation of the living and dining rooms, the creation of a new downstairs shower room and toilet and a complete refit of the existing upstairs bathroom. This was particularly tricky as we were living in Bahrain at the time and I have to say Gary from H&C was excellent in keeping us current with progress and working through solutions with us on what was quite a complex scope of work. We have no hesitation in recommending H&C, friendly, always finding workable solutions and excellent communications.

En-suite bathroom at back of garage

Excellent service and workmanship with attention to detail. We were kept informed constantly about what was happening and when, which minimised any disruption. The only 'trade' we found a slight disappointment with was the roofer, who came and did some initial work, but was difficult to pin down to return to finish off, although he did eventually do so within the four weeks estimated for the work. Very pleased and satisfied with the final result.

To build a single deck side extension

I have no problem in endorsing H and C Construction Ltd (Mr G. Harwood and his team) as competent builders. My contract with them to build a side extension,on a turnkey basis,was undertaken in a professionsl manner and more importantly on budget. The finish was to a high standard and I am grateful to Mr Harwood for liaising on my behalf with Adur Council Planning Department. In summary - I would use this company again.

En suite shower room to upstairs bedroom, including toilet, sink and window

My wife and I have been so pleased with the work that H&C Construction Sussex Ltd carried out to one of our upstairs bedrooms to put in an en suite. They worked ever so quickly, and we were amazed at the efficiency and quality by which they carried out the work. We were always kept informed as to the status of the job, and felt extremely confident that we were in good hands. We would definitely recommend this company to any of our friends or family.

Construct Footings, Base and Walls for Detached Double Garage

Gary and his team battled against some of the worst weather we have had in May to construct the footings, base and walls for my 45 sqm detached garage. Despite many setbacks the job was completed to a high standard, within budget and on time. Gary is an exellent communicator and discussed all aspects of the build in detail to ensure the best end result. It was a pleasure employing Gary and his team for this work and refreshing to find a builder focussed on providing good customer service and quality workmanship. I would definately use H and C Construction again and would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

Single storey extension to dining room/kitchen and addition a 3rd bedroom.

Gary and his sub contractors were the most professional and reliable I have used. They were not only friendly and approachable but did exactly what was specified and then more, nothing was too much trouble and the finished product is fantastic. If there was a way of improving the build Gary would recommend this even if it mean't a lot more work on his part often at no extra cost. An example of this was to take down the outside skin of the brickwork where our new bedroom was to go. Doing this gave us a larger bedroom but required a lot more work from Gary and he did this at no extra cost as he could see the benefits to us. The build was estimated to take 6 to 8 weeks and we finished bang on 6 weeks, we wanted to finish for the Easter break and he pulled out all the stops to achieve this. The disruption and mess was minimal and I was kept in the loop the whole time. If you want a reliable, approachable, happy, professional team of people who are more interested in the quality of the work they provide than a hefty profit, then look no further. Thoroughly recommended.
