Remove old broken fence and install new ones with concrete post
Fast and efficient. Finished the job in 1.5 days especially in this freezing cold weather. Happy with the result and would recommend it.

Fitting wall ties, repair to cracked brickwork and pebbledash rendering
We need repair of cracked brickwork in a section of an external wall that, for some reason, had not been rendered in keeping with the rest of the house. Paul was the only tradesman who when he came to give a quote actually took an interest in why that section was different to the rest of the house and what had caused cracks only in that part of the wall. The other people who came out just had a quick look at the wall and quoted for repointing (one company just asked for pictures of the wall and did not come out to see it!). Paul inspected the bricks at rendered/unrendered threshold and also checked state of wall ties. And after advice from a wall tie company, we had Paul fit new wall ties along the whole flank, stitch and repair cracked brickwork, repoint, and finally apply pebbledash render in keeping with the rest of the house. Thanks to Paul's interest and professionalism we hopefully now have a permanent fix to the problem, which, had we just gone with the repointing suggested by others, would likely have soon re-occured. We would recommend Paul's company to others and happily use again ourselves.

Refurbishment of flat garage roof with Firestone Rubber

Removal of a chimney breast and stack.
After the removal of the chimney breast from one of the bedrooms Paul and his builders were able to make use of a small amount extra flooring to repair the missing floor section, which given the probability of alternatives I was very happy with. Unfortunately with any job like this no matter how clean a builder is the dust that comes out of a chimney is impossible to contain. Overall I was happy with the work done and the price was less than others had managed to quote as well.

Construction of partition wall
Superb. Paul and his colleagues were asked to create a partition wall for a new bedroom, including the relocation of a period doorway, minor electrical works and plastering. Paul's huge experience was apparent from our initial meeting and was reflected in the quality of the workmanship and attention to detail (including the exact matching of period architraves/ skirting). Everyone involved took pride in their work, were totally reliable and considerate (we have a young family). Well priced work and very good result of block paving to a high standard. Work cost more than anticipated but only because we requested more during the process. Construction of two story rear extension and lean-to along side of property
Paul and his team are highly experienced tradesmen who worked tirelessly to transform our house with a minimum disruption for us as we continued to live here. The finished house is fantastic and we could not recommend Harris Building and Maintenance higher. We would definitely employ again should needs arise. Repair collapsing rain water surface drain, replace steel fire door, rebuild damaged internal block wall, replaster and make good.
I needed a few repair jobs doing around our industrial site. For all 3 jobs, Paul's estimates were very competitive. The work was carried out on time with little disruption or mess, which could have been a real problem as we have a very busy office and warehouse environment. I am totally satisfied with the work Harris Building and Maintenance carried out and would have no problem using them again within our company or at my own private address.
