I called Hillyar and Hillyar following a failed repair of the boiler by another company, they came out the same day and completed a temporary repair, identified the source of the fault and when proceeding with the recommended repair they were able to attend rapidly. A very professional, informative and friendly service provided. They install confidence and come across as knowledgeable. They took the time to explain what they were doing and why. The prices are incredibly reasonable and I would highly recommend them.

We had taken over a new house with no heating system at all. We had researched options carefully with a number of different companies. Chris and Claire impressed us from the outset with the clarity of their suggestions for what we could do. When they came to do the installation they were efficient and no nonsense - nothing was too much trouble and nothing seemed to be a problem that could not be easily fixed. A job on this scale was inevitably disruptive but they kept the mess to a minimum and were a pleasure to have around. The job was completed to time and the system is working brilliantly. All this in addition to the fact that their price was extremely competitive. We have other work to do and we will definitely use them again. Highest possible recommendation.

I can't recommend Chris and Claire highly enough. Impeccable work, nothing was ever too much trouble for them. Punctual, tidy, and went way beyond their call of duty. Fortunately, Chris even spotted a fault with our sewage outlet and repaired it instantly at no extra cost to his original quote. Only 1 plumber I will now use for future work ! Had a new combi boiler installed. Chris and Clair did an excellent job. Kept me informed the whole time and nothing was too much trouble, especially as I had a lot of questions. Cleaned up afterwards and took away the old boiler. Power flushed my radiators to ensure they would operate efficiently. They were both very polite and worked hard to get the job done on time. Great job done. Highly recommended.

Mr Hillyar was able to visit at very short notice and undertook the work within 2 days just before the bank holiday weekend, which helped extremely with minimising disruption for the tenants at the house. There have been a slight problem with some noise coming from the boiler since, but I am in discussion with Hillyar and Hillyar about getting this checked.

Phone up at 4.30pm and spoke to daughter who was very polite and reassuring and advised that someone would call back in 10 minutes with date/times available. Father called me back 10 minutes later saying he could call round in 30 mins and once arrived very polite and very through. Replaced small pipe as needed while making sure not to make any mess and cleaned up water quickly. Re-pressurised the system and checked boiler. All working fine now and very very happy with service.

Clare was recommended to me and I was not disappointed.  She clearly knows what she is talking about and she is a very good communicator; she listened carefully to my needs and gave me good advice. She and Chris, her Dad, re-arranged their busy schedule to fit in the installation of the new boiler as my old one had finally 'given up the ghost' and I was without hot water.  They work really well together and completed the job more quickly than I had expected; they also cleaned up thoroughly when they had finished. My new Baxi Platinum Combi boiler came with a five-year guarantee; I have received in the post a Buildings Regulation Compliance certificate and I also have Clare's assurance that she will service the boiler for me annually at a very competitive price.  All this adds up to peace of mind. It's so nice to know there are still some honest and decent tradespeople about.

Very impressed with the work carried out which included taking away the old appliances which was something I had not expected them to do so this was a nice surprise.  Also Chris new I was looking for a new cooker, he was able to source one for me, check it over and fitted it. When they were not able to complete the job as they needed an extra tool they returned promptly the next morning to finish the work.

From the initial quote which was significantly better value than any other quotes obtained, through to the completion of the work Chris and Claire have been excellent.  Always on time, friendly, extremely accommodating and flexible (they were always willing to fit round our plans), very clean and a high standard of work. Mira shower installed but a leakage of water occurred.  Hillyar and Hillyar came back to rectify the problem and fixed an Eco shower head but the problem reappeared.  Customer then called in a Mira engineer, as the shower was under guarantee. The engineer told the customer this guarantee was void as several mistakes had been made installing the shower.  They were told it would be more expensive to fix the shower than to replace it.

Shower was chosen for 'low energy' did advise customer this would not be the best for compatibility with their plumbing. I have offered to change it. I find it strange that since fitting the shower I have been invited to carry out further work.

In my opinion a waste of money and wrecked my heating.  Only change of thermostats was requested, flush was their suggestion although it was working fine. Left customer without heating due to air in system and without hot water for several weeks during cold winter.  Five return visits, still left for customer to sort out themselves, calls not answered. Also terrible banging in boiler due to sludge pulled into it during their flushing.  Another engineer had to re-flush to clear sludge in system. Air leaks remain from new thermostat.

We changed valves on radiators which cannot let air into system. The Immersion could have been used for hot water. The banging in boiler is due to over heating because of faulty pump. This was explained to customer and we offered to fit a new pump for just the price of the pump (no labour charge). With regards to the messages left we did respond by going back to the customer house. As for 'wrecking' the heating, the reason for original call out was because the heating was not working.
