Thanks for taking the time to look at the page for Temperature Rising. My name is James Randall I am qualified NVQ 2 and 3 plumber in Domestic Plumbing, Heating and Ventilation and have been working in the industry for 10 years. I have had an enhanced CRB check and am proud to be approved by Surrey Trading Standards. I pride myself in offering a prompt, efficient service and am always conscious of my customer needs. I am fully insured and my work always meets a very high standard. I hold a gold CSCS card. I have previously worked for several NHS hospitals, prisons, Universities, F1 Red Bull, Milton Keynes,  and have conducted on call duties, reactive, preventative maintenance plumbing on their behalf. I have also worked on many new installation sites such as flats, offices industrial and domestic.
Here is a list of some of the plumbing/mechanical work I carried out during my work at several different hospitals:-
New installations, such as replacing/fitting new boilers, w/c's, baths, showers, basins, bidets and sinks including tap and shower mixer valve changes.Reactive maintenance, identifying and fixing hot and cold water supply losses, resetting sensor faults and carrying out repairs on sensor taps.Detecting and isolating leaks. Finding, isolating and leaking/problematic w/c's, taps, sinks, baths, showers, replacing or repairing any damaged and non-functional syphones, float valves, fixtures and fittings. Changing broken lighting. Repairing/replacing isolation valves. Freezing pipework to re-instate a usable isolation to pipework. Flooring/tiling wood work repairs. Repairing and replacing pipework for boilers, showers, basins, sinks and wc's. Unblocking sink/basin traps and pipework. Sometimes using a sani snake to unblock sanitary and drainage pipework. Replacing water damaged ceiling tiles. On some occasions work involved lifting of floor coverings, floor boards to detect leaks and the reinstatement once leak had been repaired including replacement of ceiling tiles. The removal of wall tiling/timber panels to expose hidden leaking pipework.
Preventative maintenance-finding and assessing roof leaks, replacing o ring seals, servicing thermostatic mixer valves and tap valves. servicing and cleaning thermostatic mixer valves. Cleaning basin/sink taps, double check valves, strainers, removing bacteria-legionella prevention, checking water temperatures and the built in fail safe function to prevent scolding. Adjusting temperature to correct hospital requirements. Also cleaning tap and shower heads and keeping a record of all (PPM) plumbing maintenance results. Adjusting/repairing heating, replacing lock shields and thermostatic radiator valves.
On call duties-Diagnosing, fixing, fault finding, adjusting/repairing heating, air conditioning and ventilation. Resetting nurse call bells, resetting electrics in a total power loss situation, resetting alarms, pneumatic air tube system, automatic and emergency doors. Investigating/reporting any plant room leaks/faults. Daily checks on steam plant and associated plant boilers including water treatment.
With all plumbing work liaising with asbestos register, making sure disabled facilities such as w/c's, showers, baths are always safe to use and in service at all times where possible, and all there special requirements/needs are met at all times. The use of compression fittings where possible, but if an urgent repair necessitated the use of a blow torch, a hot works permit would be sought. Any relevant permits would be obtained for working in any restricted areas or confined spaces and for safety we would work in pairs.
All work carried out was in line with current Health and Safety Policy, COSHH policy e.g dealing with asbestos at all times, RIDDOR procedures and compiling risk assessments.
