Found Jim on Checkatrade. I was looking for someone who could do all the plumbing and tiling themselves and not outsourcing. Jim had excellent recommendations and I can endorse all of them. Jim and his son Sam worked tirelessly and their work was outstanding. They are obviously very experienced and they filled me with complete confidence. I am very pleased with the result, the room looks great and I have already arranged for them to refurbish another ensuite. Do not hesitate to take them on. I highly recommend them.

The job was to remove the old en-suite and fit a new one and fully retile it. He arrived on the date agreed and completed the work in a very professional manner, completely in-line with the estimate. He was very neat and tidy and left the place spotlessly clean. The standard of the work was very good.

Jim and Sam are a great team, they gutted our cloak/shower room, took away all rubbish - as well as replacing the suite and shower, they tile, plaster and do the electrics. They work hard til the job is finished - no disappearing acts! Would definitely recommend them.

Jim and Sam did a great job in the end but unfortunately there was a leak just after they had finished and left. To their credit they did come back at 10.00pm half an hour after ringing Jim. Jim blamed the awkwardness of the bath filler being in the corner but the pipework was put in before the bath was put in, only had to connect the tails up, it was a badly soldered joint. This leak caused me to have my kitchen ceiling taken down and re- plaster boarded with all the mess that evolved with the extra stress of obtaining quotes from plasterers and electricians. Hence the low score.

I would like the opportunity to clarify a couple of things. The customer has every right to be annoyed; he had significant damage to his kitchen ceiling. The leak was caused by a bad soldered joint, it happens now and again. I think this is the second time in 30 years of doing this job. but the point is that it was not blamed on the bath taps being in the corner, the almost impossible job of repairing it was. If there is ever a problem with the taps or pipework after the guarantee has expired the customer will be hard pushed to find anyone to access them. This was the only comment that was made regarding the placement of the taps. However, I feel sometimes people don’t take advice as it is intended. I understand the stress of the extra work involving the repairs but not obtaining two quotes. I fully intended getting the quotes myself, but my insurers said not to as, if the repairs were not satisfactory, then it could still come back to me. So the customer was advised by my insurers to get the quotes. A matter of a couple of phone calls.

I would not hesitate in recommending Jim and his son to conduct any bathroom work in your home. He is very approachable and is more than willing to aid you in developing the design. We unfortunately ran out of tiles (due to us changing the scope of works), Jim remained flexible and even attempted (unprompted) to source the tiles. In summary, competitive pricing, quality work coupled with a "can do" attitude. Don't bother wasting time looking elsewhere!

We had various quotes from other companies but Jim came across as the most reasonable and helpful, less of the telling us what we should do and more of the 'can do, no problem' attitude. The quote provided was extremely competitive and fully itemised, due to a minor set back (our fault) I needed Jim to do some additional work that was taken on with no issues. We had Jim's son David do the actual work as Jim was committed to another contract, but David was excellent and worked hard to get the job done. He provided some recommendations based on his previous experience which we went with and the result is great, and even saved us some money!! We are really pleased with the work that had been done and would certainly use them again, they are a good, honest, family business and I can't speak highly enough of them.

Jim and his sons removed the existing bathroom suite and fitted a brand new suite including plastering and tiling to floor and wall. Jim's quote was very reasonable, he agreed to start when it was convenient to me and he kept to the timescales he had promised before the work started. Throughout the project I felt that I could trust Jim's judgement and advice and he didn't let me down. I am incredibly pleased with my new bathroom, it is better than I could have imagined and the workmanship is absolutely faultless. I would not hesitate to recommend Jim and his sons and I will definitely be using him again should the need arise.

We set Jim and his son Sam a challenging job to convert a small scruffy utility room into a shower room with toilet and wash basin. The end result is excellent, produced in a short time with minimum fuss. Jim's plastering is superb and the tiling both to wall and floor is perfect. The electrician used was also extremely professional and helpful. If you need a bathroom "Jim will fix it"

Jim came in and I could tell within minutes that he knew what he was talking about. We had an unknown underground leak and knew we needed the soil pipe moved to accommodate the suite we wanted to fit. Jim gave a very good quote and made it very clear the only way the price could change would be if we found an absolute mess once the concrete had been dug up. Once the room had been gutted and work started, Jim quickly found the source of the problem (a bodged job that had previously been done, its an old house) and set about digging out the soil pipe and completely redoing the water pipes for the new modular toilet and sink, plus new bath and towel rail. Once the pipes were done (which gave me much better water pressure) Jim and his Sons screed the floor, plastered the walls and ceiling (smooth as a baby's bum) , layed the floor and fitted the suite. The only things that got in the way of the project was me buying things on eBay that didn't fit or work properly, Jim was able to advise me on these mistakes and we quickly sourced more suitable items, which actually looked better than my original plans. I'm over the moon with the end result and WILL use Jim for any work like this I have done in the future! Also, Jim and his sons all take 2 sugars in their tea, so its nice and easy to remember! Thanks again guys!

Jim was recommended by Bathroom Warehouse at Winchester, from whom we sourced all the sanitary ware and furniture for a fairly comprehensive refit of two bathrooms including moving electrics, radiators and removing a wall nib to enlarge the shower. Jim's initial price was competitive and overall we achieved a significant c20% saving on a negotiated price from a heavily promoted local bathroom specialist. The installation was not straightforward - some issues with the initial design and manufacturing defects with a towel radiator created additional work which caused the job to over-run by several days. We agreed a small additional charge covering the design alterations. Jim and his sons worked ceaselessly while on site, protecting carpets and cleaning up well every day, and delivered a good overall standard of work.

I felt that this traders manner could have been better throughout the project which would have made this experience a lot less stressful. The Electrician never turned up to sign off his electrical work. I found this not an easy or smooth experience.

In response to the customers comments above. I am unhappy that this customer was not satisfied with our services. I quoted for this work and the customer seemed happy and asked me to go ahead. The customer supplied all her own materials to carry out this work, and we found that delays arose due to the fact that the goods ordered by the customer did not arrive on time. This in turn had an affect on my business as I found that I was having to delay other jobs that were booked in to accommodate this customer. I found that the customer was on edge a lot of the time which in turn made us feel on edge. I found that we were having to explain our work over and over with the customer when I felt there was nothing wrong. When the electrical work that was carried out by us was due to be signed off it was discovered that the previous owner had left the electrics in the attic so unsafe that a certificate could not be issued until they had been rectified. This was explained to the customer and our electrician supplied a quotation for the work to be carried out. Our electrician has tried to contact the customer on a few occasions with no response. Because the electrician has never heard from this customer, the electrical work cannot be signed off.
