Mr James was recommended to me by a friend. It was a bit of an emergency as the pipe was leaking and causing damage to the ceiling. I texted him quite late at night saying I would call in the morning but he phoned me back early the following morning. He had a job on but came to me after lunch at exactly the time promised. Very polite, friendly and mended my faulty pipe at what I thought was a very reasonable cost. Would defininately use him again.

Phoned in morning and after explaining I had been without hot water or heating for 5 days, as my previous plumber had let me down, he came round after his usual job load at 5pm and replaced my pump. He was very efficient, trustworthy, friendly, tidy and I would not hesitate in recommending him to my friends. Great service

Our hot water kept running cold. John came round to have a look very promptly after contacting. Informed of what the problem was and given option as to whether to repair part or opt for a new replacement.Part. I called John at 6pm on a Sunday evening and he was round the next day to give me a quote. I thought it was reasonable, so I gave him the go ahead. He seemed very knowledgable and was quick to work around problems, offering sensible advice and taking the time to explain things. John also did some excellent boxing in work that made all the difference to the finished effect in the bathroom. The old boiler cupboard was transformed into a useable storage space when he manufactured a new floor with timber. He finished it nicely with some left over carpet, and boarded over a hole in the side wall. Overall I'm very happy, and would recommend his services without hesitation.

John carried out various jobs : replacing three rads, installing a new control and temperature guage for the boiler, replacing a pop-up plug, repairing a leaking tap and repair to a toilet cistern. Considering these works took best part of the day the cost was reasonable. He is a really nice bloke and we would definately use him again.

The job presented more of a challenge than others would because we have communal central heating in my block of flats. John soon grasped how things work here and dealt with the task with efficiency and courtesy. It wasn't possible carry out tests at the end, as he would have done if I had my own system but I felt confident that he had done a good job. Would use him again.

He didn't bother to put back the 2 screws for the boiler cover and the plastic cover of the circuit board which he dropped at the tight side of the boiler , The screw holes of the pcb cover are broken and the screws are missing . When I made the booking for the 2nd visit I mentioned to him an extra job to disconnect and blanked the gas supply to my gas heater, and he agreedto do it, but when he came and I mentioned it he said he forgot all about it and he hasn't got the blanking plug and cannot do it. I only knew what time he's coming 45 minutes before he arrived. He could not tell me any earlier which I wasn't very happy about. I only hope these comments will help him improve his service and not offend him. Even I used him first time, I think he is genuinely nice bloke.

I was extremely pleased with all the safety checks that John James carried out and with his knowledge. He was very tidy and clean in his work here and he was courteous and very nice. The work was carried out quickly (within a morning), where previous plumbers had struggled for a whole day with return visits to rectify the problem. I had a new boiler fitted by a individual ( NOT John), which was not fitted correctly which caused my water tank to leak and the overflow pipe to be constantly dripping.(this individual has failed to return my phone calls) I obtained John's details from this site and called him on Bank Holiday Monday, John returned my phone call and arranged to come to the flat first thing Tuesday morning. John identified the problem which he has rectified.John took the time to explain to me how the problem was caused and explained how he had rectified it. I would have no hesitations in recommending John and I will keep his details for any future work.

Very accommodating, able to schedule our job to fit in on the days l was not working. Did not leave any mess and used dust sheets to protect carpets when going in and out of the house. Excellent workmanship. Toilet and sink fitted and finished to a high standard. Both work well with no problems. Very good value for money compared to other quotes that we had. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend John for plumbing work. He's a very personable guy who knows his stuff and was happy to explain what was wrong and what was being fixed. Very reasonably priced too. It's not often you get both a good price and a quality job these days!

John turned up on the button and completed the original job by lunchtime. He called to say the pump was on the verge of packing up and we both decided to renew it in case it did. After a nightmare of an airlock John refused to accept any money or my offer for him to go home as it was getting late and proceeded to clear it and get my hot water going again. John is a credit to Checkatrade and I will have no hesitation in recommending him in the future.

Came out at a moments notice. The boiler had a problem, John called the IDEAL technical department for assistance. They said it was a faulty programmer, he thought them wrong. It turned out to be a thermostat. Very nice helpful chap, will use him every time.
