John turned up dead on the time agreed, and did the work exceptionally well. He explained how he was going to carry out the work. He took away all the debris, and carries his own broom and vacuum cleaner to tidy up each day. At the end of the job I asked him to quote for another job (loft ladder).

John Joyce was a pleasure to work with and I can highly recommend him! 10 out of 10. Being rather cautious and a bit of a perfectionist I got 5 quotes before I met John as I carry out most repairs myself and I find it difficult to trust tradesmen who deliver to my standards and provide value for money. With no time to do the work myself I buckled to my wife's pleas to get a professional to finish the remaining technical carpentry jobs in the house. His quote was very competitive but most importantly his expertise was self evident and his advice spot on. I accepted the quote and true to his word his time keeping was impeccable, he was exceptionally professional, he was courteous, cleaned up after himself and most importantly delivered the jobs to my exact specifications and to an extremely high standard. After rebuilding most of my house myself over the years I am not easily impressed and dare I say fear the worst with modern tradesmen, John Joyce is an exception to the rule. I will be using John again for any carpentry jobs I need help with and would go so far as to say that I wouldn't use another carpenter if I need something doing! Thanks John- the wife is finally happy and the house is finished!!!!!

This is the second time that we have used John Joyce and again we were not disappointed. From the first contact to the finish of the job John was professional in his approach. The wardrobes were absolutely fabulous and the nice thing was that John made suggestions as well to help us get the right solution for us. John made some alcove shelves for my flat and I was very pleased with how it went - he was punctual, polite and extremely easy to work with. I would recommend him to anyone - indeed I have already passed his details on to some of my neighbours! He tidied up after himself well and I was very pleased with the work he carried out. John Joyce arranged for a joiner to make our front door as it was an unusual size. John came round to check measurements thoroughly before ordering and then fitted for us in one day. John fitted the locks and gave us good advice regarding painting/finishing etc. Once we had painted our door, John returned promptly to fit the draught seals. We are very happy with the workmanship and the fit of the door. At all times throughout John was a pleasure to deal with, I would definitely use him again.

After an issue with another company resulting in needing a replacement boiler -the surround around the old boiler needed to be removed before the installation could commence. Afterwards very untidy area. John came in to the property and did not hesitate to recommend the best options to choose from. On the day John did exactly as agreed, leaving me with what I consider a better surround that before. I would have no hesitation in recommending John to anyone who is after ideas and solid work from a skilled, friendly and experienced carpenter

John responded quickly at the outset to measure and agree date to start. He kept to his time frames and was helpful in advice before and during the jobs. John has a professional and friendly manner and was always prompt, tidy, hardworking and creative. The wardrobes had to accommodate particularly difficult ceiling and alcove shapes but the end result is of a very high standard and I am delighted with both jobs. John returned our call very promptly, came and measured up and gave us a very competitive quote. He gave us a date to start the work but because the weather was so bad and he needed to do some work outside he didn't just phone but took the time to come round and explain and to give us a new date a couple of days later. We are absolutely delighted with the work, John is a perfectionist and it shows right from our first contact with him through to the end of the job. We would have no hesitation in recommending him.

A new bookcase needing an extra shelf with unusual fittings. John found similar fittings, put in the extra wood side pieces for the extra fittings and oiled these and the shelf so all matches the original. A rotten wood bin cupboard door had needed replacing for several years but the size required is now unavailable. John found a door just short of half an inch on width, fitted a strip to one side of the frame which is unnoticeable. Very happy with both jobs.

John did a superb job of installing book shelves and a cupboard in two alcoves. He was able to fit the shelves to the very uneven walls I have in my old Victorian terrace flat. The installation was seamless and of very high quality. Also, John installed a shroud to conceal my boiler outlet pipe which ran along the length of the kitchen, fitting an inspection hatch to the shroud to allow gas safety engineers access. Again, excellent solid work. John was extremely punctual, tidy and unfailingly polite. He gave constructive advice and took great care to ensure that he was producing exactly what I wanted. All, in all, an excellent job at a reasonable price. I would definitely use John again.

This was the second time we have used John Joyce for carpentry work. The 1st time was a year earlier when he built and fit living room cupboards, TV unit and a shelving unit. On both occasions we found John to be more than satisfactory to deal with. We had a very clear idea of our requirements but John also contributed to the design which improved the end product. His pricing was competitive and on both occasions there were no surprises with the quote. He caused minimal disruptions to the household, was considerate of our neighbours and left the house clean and tidy. We are more than happy with the quality of the work and will have no hesitation in using his services in the future.
