Joyce Carpentry was started in 2003.  I started out with an apprenticeship in 1988,so have over 20 years experience to date.

  • I mainly work on my own, depending on the size of the job. If needed I can call on other time served carpenters.
  • I undertake mainly domestic work , carrying out jobs such as flooring, wardrobes, alcove units, doors and windows, kitchens-supplied and fitted. I also carry out exterior work such as decking, fencing etc.

Laminate Flooring in Hall, Lounge and Dinning Room

John convinced me to upgrade from Krono laminate to Quick Step and I am so glad I did. John did a great job of fitting the floor throughout the ground floor seamlessly without door bars. It gives a great feeling of space. John takes a lot of pride in his work and you know that he is going to do the best job possible and not cut corners.

Replace panel for bath and build hidden panel cupboard, box in pipes and box in electric cables.

Very professional in all aspects of his work. I was very happy with completed job which was done to my specifications. John was polite, on time, tidy as well as being a great communicator. I would definitely recommend John and would use him again in the future.

Internal door work: two new glazed doors, construct one bi-fold door, re-hang and trim other existing doors, fit new ironmongery to all doors and make good.

John provided a detailed description of how he would undertake the work and gave us the opportunity to discuss a variety of options for the new doors required. He provided a quote that included all costs of labour, materials and disposal of rubbish; he sourced and collected the new doors and ironmomgery. The work was completed over two and a half days with an update on progress every day; each day John arrived and left at the times he'd told us he would. John is exactly the sort of person you'd want working in your home, he's careful, considerate, sociable and gets on with the job. We'd recommend him wthout any reservation.

New door, strengthen airing cupboard and fit new door and shelves. Plus minor work.

John turned up dead on the time agreed, and did the work exceptionally well. He explained how he was going to carry out the work. He took away all the debris, and carries his own broom and vacuum cleaner to tidy up each day. At the end of the job I asked him to quote for another job (loft ladder).

New rear entrance door to garage

John kept us informed of when he would be starting and kept to his word .Job was completed quietly and professionally .Job was priced at a fair rate with no hidden extras. I would recommend him for any future work

Fitted Kitchen and laminate floor

Extremely conscientious and professional. Talked through all the options and consulted us about any changes. I would thoroughly recommend him. Good communication throughout and very tidy, the workmanship was excellent. Fitted around family life.

Boxed in pipes in kitchen

Mr Joyce was a pleasure to have in my home. He arrived on time, did a fantastic job and cleaned up after doing the work. This was only a small job but John was happy to take on the work. Would be happy to recommend to friends and family and would use again.

Repairs to stairwell, hung doors and bespoke carpentry

John Joyce was a pleasure to work with and I can highly recommend him! 10 out of 10. Being rather cautious and a bit of a perfectionist I got 5 quotes before I met John as I carry out most repairs myself and I find it difficult to trust tradesmen who deliver to my standards and provide value for money. With no time to do the work myself I buckled to my wife's pleas to get a professional to finish the remaining technical carpentry jobs in the house. His quote was very competitive but most importantly his expertise was self evident and his advice spot on. I accepted the quote and true to his word his time keeping was impeccable, he was exceptionally professional, he was courteous, cleaned up after himself and most importantly delivered the jobs to my exact specifications and to an extremely high standard. After rebuilding most of my house myself over the years I am not easily impressed and dare I say fear the worst with modern tradesmen, John Joyce is an exception to the rule. I will be using John again for any carpentry jobs I need help with and would go so far as to say that I wouldn't use another carpenter if I need something doing! Thanks John- the wife is finally happy and the house is finished!!!!!

Bespoke fitted wardrobes

This is the second time that we have used John Joyce and again we were not disappointed. From the first contact to the finish of the job John was professional in his approach. The wardrobes were absolutely fabulous and the nice thing was that John made suggestions as well to help us get the right solution for us. The standard of workmanship was excellent and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Cupboards and boxing in of pipes

John and Toby were great at their work and very tidy. John made a brilliant effort to get the work completed for us in time for our carpets to be fitted even at a very busy period for him, and the work was still completed to a high standard. They were both a pleasure to work with.
