This company had led me to believe that the work would be completed by the end of April, but didn’t finish till June. They also led me to believe that the surveyor had approved the work when I am not sure if he has. I am under the impression that they have moved a defective part from one area to another. I feel that they caused damage to my property which they do not seem to be taking responsibility for.

1 June 2010Response from L & M Doors & Windows Ltd:
We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused to this customer. This project has not gone as we planned due to the fact that the customer’s block of flats has an appointed window system only to be installed by an approved manufacturer giving us only two options of suppliers. Our problems started when we had committed ourselves to an installation date and our suppliers were three days late with the product. When we did get the delivery it was not complete and the wrong goods were sent. The supplier also got the dimensions of one of the windows wrong which added a delay of some 5 weeks to the project. We did however keep the customer informed at all times. This was the first time we had done an installation on this particular building and due to the condition of the building we had to have some plastering work carried out: this also added some unplanned time to the work. We sent the customer two bunches of flowers during the process as we were aware of the inconvenience, albeit out of hands, the project was causing. When the invoice was settled in full, we were given the impression that she was pleased with the work and pleased, as we were, that the job was now complete.
