Loft Ladder Installations; I fit on average 4-5 ladders a week. Work usually includes adapting hatch to hinge downwards, fit new draught excluder, and fit appropriate ladder to customers choice. Depending on type of ladder work takes about 2.5 hours to 4.5 hours and I can usually undertake work within one week.
Normal, but not exclusive, types of ladder;- 2 section Youngmans or Abru aluminium; 3 section spring loaded aluminium (Abru) for easier storage, 2 section wooden Arrow ladder also spring loaded, and 3 section wooden integral hatch and fold down ladder. Depending on roof construction, I can reposition hatch if required, or enlarge hatch size .The 3 section wooden fold down ladder almost always requires enlarging access as it requires an opening of 1,2 mtrs x 56 cms and complete installation takes about 1.5 days. My prices for supply and fit range from about £170 for the basic ladder to about £500 for the 3 section wooden fold down ladder. Prices to be confirmed on discussion.
Loft flooring can be fitted, and depending on access large or small flooring boards can be supplied and fitted averaging about £20 a sqr metre.
Other work undertaken:- Hanging new doors, fitting new handles etc; I also supply and install curtain poles, tracks and blinds; working for several self employed curtain makers and will also assemble flat pack furniture etc. I welcome the opportunity to provide a free estimate for all work.
