Lucas Electrics is a small, family run firm and we understand the importance of providing a professional service that meets the needs of all our customers.

This means that we are reliable, efficient and friendly in all our dealings. Crucially, we are able to keep our prices competitive and labour costs free of VAT.

Mathew Carver, head of Lucas Electrics is an NICEIC approved electrician.

He has been qualified for 20 years. During this time he has undertaken everything from complete hospital refits to changing domestic light switches. Originally from Australia, Mathew now lives in Brighton with his family.

Qualifications

Lucas Electrics will undertake all domestic electrical work. We have never come across anything that we can't handle in the home and are glad of a challenge! We offer rewiring, downlights, consumer units, safety testing and telephone points and much, much more.

We also carry out commercial and industrial installations, offering expertise in air conditioning, fire detection and emergency lighting systems as well as periodic inspection, PAT testing and general rewiring.

As specialists in home and building automation, we offer a range of systems to cover all areas of the market. Using the experience of our associate Professional Certified Designers we are able to deliver all sizes of project from apartments to country estates

Installing new RCD unit, installing sockets in three rooms
Mathew could not have been more careful or efficient. Spot-on estimates and good advice. Really neat work, carried out promptly. We would definitely want him to carry out future electrical work for us.

Hallway and bedroom lighting
I phoned Lucas Electrics late morning and they said they could come either that day early afternoon or in a couple of days time which I agreed to. Early afternoon they phoned and said they would be there in 15 mins and they were. Hurrah. They sorted out faulty upstairs/downstairs wiring and replaced bedroom switch. They did this quickly, efficiently, politely and were obviously "house trained"!

Electrical safety test of a property in Brighton that I am purchasing
The building survey of the property I am currently buying highlighted some issues with the electrics and recommended that I engage an electrician to perform the necessary tests. I called Matthew at Lucas Electrics to see if he could help. Luckily his scheduled job had been delayed and he was able to visit the property the same morning and perform the electrical safety inspection. He dropped the completed safety report over to me later that day. He also followed-up with a quote to complete the work necessary to address the issues highlighted in his report! And all this was completed within 24hrs. Fantastic!

11 new heat and fire alarms.
Matthew and the team's work is excellent.  There was so little mess and disruption which was really excellent. Matthew dealt with my building inspector first hand so I didn't have to get involved and came round at my convenience to talk about the job.  Lucas Electrics provide an honest and professional service, that I will use again.

Replace fuse board with RCD, rewired garage, extra plugs etc.
Listened to what I wanted and completed the task. The new RCD trip developed a fault, he came and sorted out the problem very quickly also supplied electrical safety certificate.  Polite and workmanlike.
