Lucas Electrics is a small, family run firm and we understand the importance of providing a professional service that meets the needs of all our customers.

This means that we are reliable, efficient and friendly in all our dealings. Crucially, we are able to keep our prices competitive and labour costs free of VAT.

Mathew Carver, head of Lucas Electrics is an NAPIT approved electrician.

He has been qualified for 20 years. During this time he has undertaken everything from complete hospital refits to changing domestic light switches. Originally from Australia, Mathew now lives in Brighton with his family.

Lucas Electrics will undertake all domestic electrical work. We have never come across anything that we can't handle in the home and are glad of a challenge! We offer rewiring, downlights, consumer units, safety testing and telephone points and much, much more.

We also carry out commercial and industrial installations, offering expertise in air conditioning, fire detection and emergency lighting systems as well as periodic inspection, PAT testing and general rewiring.

As specialists in home and building automation, we offer a range of systems to cover all areas of the market. Using the experience of our associate Professional Certified Designers we are able to deliver all sizes of project from apartments to country estates

New sockets.
Very friendly, reliable and conscientious. I had an aerial put in and they made a real mess. Matthew came back after the work had been done at short notice and plastered it in, tidying it up for no charge. The work is really neat and we are pleased with the result. Good value, does not overcharge and keeps to the given quote. Would definitely use him again.

Put in new consumer box and check.
Turned up on time, polite, honest. Did the work a little quicker than they expected and passed on the discount to us. Did a great job and left the work area nice and clean! Definitely use them again.

Two chandeliers fitted.
Rang for a quote. I was very happy with the quote so asked when the job could be done. Luckily for me they had just finished a job so they arrived within 30 mins of speaking on the phone. Job started straight away. He made it look so easy, polite and clean. All mess cleaned up. Would highly recommend and use again. Thank you.

Changing light fittings, plug sockets and lights witches.
Excellent in every respect, punctual polite and absolutely professional. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone. They even took the time to repair some plaster work around one of the sockets that was damaged before they even arrived and without any extra charge! Thanks guys!

Additional power sockets, rewiring existing for safety and chasing cable into wall.
They were careful, informed me of slight changes to placement of sockets due to wall structure, cleared up well, finished work is neat and functional. I felt confident going out and leaving them in the house. I will be using them again.

Fixed botched wiring and lighting job on stair and hallway lights by another electrician.
He arrived on time, explained what was causing the problem and fixed it swiftly. I felt confident in his abilities and although this was a small job I would use him for a big job should the need arise. I have experienced many cowboy electricians in the past but he's one of the good guys! I would definitely recommend.

Replace downlights and fix dimmer switch.

Take apart bathroom and fan circuit to check wiring and change burnt out circuit breaker in consumer unit.
Very good and very efficient. Identified problem, carried out required work and informed me by text straight away. Faulty lighting and extraction unit were back in working order and work area left area clean and tidy.
