Suspected faulty socket however narrowed the problem down to the iron being faulty instead.

Fitted a timer to our water heater and to a boost heater and rewired boiler
Mark explained the problem with our boiler (in depth) and explained what he was doing to fix it. He also explained how the previous wiring issues were causing some related problems -boost heater not working, overloading etc. Set up the system so we didn't have to learn and experiment with timers! Mark charged a low price as well!
