McCarthy Maintenance is meeting local demand for high quality workmanship at a reasonable price. As a trained craftsman, I offer over 25 years experience in skills ranging from painting and decorating, carpentry, restoration work, design, bespoke artwork and general home maintenance.

My mission is simple: To provide an excellent service going the extra mile to achieve high quality, thorough workmanship, value and excellent customer relations. 

Alongside painting and decorating I also undertake restoration and general maintenance requiring skill and thorough attention to detail. Whether restoring a rotten window frame, repainting a lounge or re-skimming a wall, extensive preparation and quality of finish is all. Working thoroughly and with an eye on long term satisfaction is all part of the service!

Decorating sitting room

Excellent attention to detail. Plastering was very carefully checked and smooth, and much care was taken with the preparation to create an even surface. No blemishes evident in the paintwork, and all furniture was carefully shielded from paint spray. A very thorough job.

Repair, internal and external re-painting and double-glazing of two rear windows.

Very pleased indeed with what Leo has done to give my windows a new lease of life. They were in a sorry state (see photos). He has repaired rotten joints, mended cracks, made drip-channels functional again, re-puttied and repainted. He has also installed tailor-made double-glazing while preserving the original timber frames. He is courteous, knowledgeable, thorough and fair in his pricing. Highly recommended.

Restoration and painting of sills to front bay windows incl. Rotted joints.

Meticulous care was taken to chemically preserve what was sound and to replace lost wood at the joints with shaped matching hardwood inserts. Communication as the job progressed was excellent and reassuring.
