Mike was friendly, courteous and helpful. He arrived on time, worked hard and completed the project in the forecast time. He admitted to being 'fussy' and this showed in his attention to detail and tidiness. I was impressed that he fitted felt protective pads to the legs of the furniture - something that I had not asked him to do. I thought I paid a fair price for an excellent job and have no hesitation in recommending his services.

Having read the reviews on this site, we thought we'd try Mike's services. Despite my husband and I being fussy customers we were not disappointed. Mike has an informal friendly approach which means it's a pleasure to welcome him into your home. He remains professional at all times though - both in the quality of his workmanship and in keeping us informed of the development of the project. He tackled any problems he faced during the preparation work with ease and without complaint. He was helpful in giving advice on what flooring we should choose and where we could source materials cheaper. We've had our fair share of tradesmen work on our house over the last six years and we can honestly say that Mike is one of the best! We would recommend him without hesitation.

Mike did a fantastic job in delivering and fitting a new staircase and oak flooring. The living room has been transformed. Excellent in keeping us up to date with progress Mike was able to deliver top quality workmanship despite the various challenges thrown up by our cottage. Mike came recommended, so I had high expectations. He did not disappoint! Mike did a very professional job, efficiently and was very tidy. He even collected the flooring for me and helped me move a fridge and washing machine outside which was going to be collected for recycling. Costs were as quoted which I found to very good especially given the high level of workmanship.

Mike came whilst we were on holiday and laid wooden flooring to our ground floor. I am really pleased with the finished work. He did need to latex the floor first which was an extra £150 but otherwise he charged on quote. He was really helpful when choosing our floor giving his advice and was friendly and approachable at all times. I would recommend Mike to others

Michael laid a floor for me in a previous property around 5 years ago. I was so pleased with the work at that time that when I moved and wanted another wood floor I immediately thought I of Michael. Even after 5 years he remembered who I was immediately which was nice! He helped me source the floor (he can also supply but it was nice to have the option) and explained why engineered wood would probably be best for me. Michael laid the floor extremely quickly and as usual was neat and tidy. The floor was finished to an exceptionally high standard and I could not find fault at all. The level of detail that Micheal goes to in order to ensure a fabulous finish is quite amazing. I would highly recommend Michael to anyone wanting a new floor!

Mike did a great job laying wood floor to the entire ground floor of our house. This involved levelling a number of floors with latex prior to the laying of the floor. Mike provided good advice prior to laying which helped us to make the right decision on what type of floor to la, and his attention to detail was second to none. Mike was excellent. Although the delivery of our wood floor was delayed, Mike completed the floor preparation as planned and left the place tidy while we waited for the floor to arrive. Mike then came back as soon as the floor was available and got the job completed. Mike had to work with different, uneven sub floors but you would not know that looking at the results. Floor looks fantastic! I would have no problems recommending Mike.

As we lived over 50 miles away from the property that we were due to move into, we had to rely on Mike Bailey to let himself in and carry out the work without us being there. He arrived at the property to find no heating on and took it on himself to top up the gas pre-payment card for the meter which meant that there was very little delay in starting the job. Some of the preparation work that he had asked the landlord to carry out was not done and he ended up doing this himself so once again preventing any delay in the job being completed. A great job was done and we would recommend him to anyone.

Mike has done an excellent job with our wood flooring. He gave us samples to chose from or said he would fit any flooring of our choice. In the end we went with one of his samples which was much nicer than anything we had found ourselves. Mike worked around our builder and was always clean and tidy. His charges were very competitive and transparent. He also gave me some good advice on what I should do with our wooden staircase in order to bring it back to life. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone wanting to fit a wood floor.

Mike provided a very straight forward quote outlining exactly what he was going to do, including how he was going to deal with an unleveled stone fire hearth. He also gave details of all of the materials that would be required so we knew that there wouldn't be any other costs we had overlooked. He sourced the materials for us from his wholesaler and passed them on at cost price. Mike was able to do the job within a few days, he was punctual and finished the job within the given time. He was also friendly and helpful at all times. The floor looks good. I'd certainly ask Mike to do any similar jobs for me in the future. Good job!

It was a large area that needed to be flattened out, it wasn't an easy job as it is a very old and quirky cottage. He managed to get it very level and fitted a lovely wooden floor. Mike took us to see the wood he suggested we use in the house of another of his clients which was better than just looking at the sample which was helpful for our decision making. He also came back a month or so later to put the threshold in once we had tiled one section that hadn't been completed. All round a nice and friendly guy and we are really pleased with the job he has done. We would highly recommend him.

Mike is extremely nice and a quality workman. He screeded large expanses of floor to ensure it was level. His attention to detail was meticulous. Probably took him twice as long because of the terribly uneven original concrete but he only charged me for extra screed, not his time! Even the area under the stairs was perfect. My job was fiddly. He takes a lot of pride in his work. His sample of oak was gorgeous, much better than stuff I'd ordered, so involve him early on in your project. He had keys to the house and I was flexible about when he did the work. Say if it is important to you that he is in and out within the week.

We required an experienced specialist hardwood floor layer to lay flooring throughout our house. Prior to starting Mike was very accomodating, he told us he had 12 years experience and the specialist experience for laying our type of floor. Mike was unable to offer a practical solution when issues began to arise, the remedy did not work and one suggestion was wholly impractical with the job now well underway. We had a discussion and Mike walked out without completing the job, he has not had the professional courtesy to respond to our calls or letters. After seeking advice we have found there are remedies to our flooring issues. We feel very let down as Mike gave us confidence that he had the specialist experience in order to complete our type of flooring.

Mike really is one of those tradesmen that puts the cowboys to shame. He was friendly and courteous, accurate in his estimate - but honest about any potential pitfalls, hard working, and above all, very good at what he does. He was able to recommend a great supplier who beat any quote I could find on the internet for the type of flooring I wanted. He listened to what I thought I wanted, and was able to advise me where he thought I was going wrong. He came up with creative suggestions for our porch area, and even fixed some bodges left by our former builder. All in all, I couldn't recommend him any higher.

The job took longer to get started than expected because of the need to source samples, but once underway, we could see straight away why Mike recommended the product we went for. We trusted Mike to get on with laying the floor we could live with (in terms of looks) and felt comfotable to give him a key to the house to progress the job as he needed. I would recommend them.
