Minton Young is a Sussex design and build company. We have over 15 years experience in the building industry combined with over 10 years in the design industry. We offer our clients a comprehensive service from concept to finished product.

Our team of skilled reputable craftsmen are passionate about building and design. All of our trades are fully insured, and qualified to the latest required standards. We are competent in all areas of the building trade, where even the most complex challenges are welcome. Our expertise also includes offering professional planning services, involving full CAD plans, access statements and planning officer consultation.

Reducing the environmental impact of building is at the heart of Minton Young’ s ethos. We offer knowledgeable advice to clients on current eco technologies and energy saving products. Moreover we are working hard to minimise waste from the build process and recycle where ever possible.

We understand that building work can be a disruptive and stressful experience, so our mission is to minimise this impact by being considerate and thoughtful to our clients and their neighbours. We operate tidy site policies and have excellent professional relationships with all of our clients.

Porch and bathroom extension.
We commissioned Minton Young Ltd to build a porch and bathroom extension which required extensive (7ft) foundations on my 3 bed house. The work required the front of the house removing, and a 2 story extension building including full fit out and finishing of a bathroom and porch. Minton Young did exactly what they said they would, they were clean and tidy and the quality of the work was excellent. The finish throughout is amazing and whenever I found something that required further attention, which was rare, there was no questioning and it was done without fuss. Since my wife was pregnant at the time it was really important that the work was completed on time and with as little disruption to our living arrangements as possible and they certainly delivered here as well. Ross and Simon's team are very conscientious and professional and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them, in fact I have already commissioned them to fit out my companies new offices.

Full width extension and associated works.
Ross, Simon and their crew were a pleasure to work with and we would strongly recommend them. We had used them before for a kitchen refit and have since moved to a larger house. We planned to build a full width extension and knew that the building works would be taking place not long after the birth of our first child. Therefore it was imperative that we had a company that we could trust. With mum and baby at home during most of the building it was so important to us that the people doing the work were friendly, trust worthy, tidy and conscientious to our needs. Not only did the team at Minton Young Ltd possess all of these qualities, the work they produced was of an extremely high standard. We felt very comfortable with the 2 way communication throughout, with us outlining our requirements which they listened to but also gave invaluable advice in return. We felt as if they genuinely wanted us to end up with the finished product that we would be happy with at a reasonable price. There was never any hint of being talked into things just to make a bit more money. Every effort was made to keep our house as tidy as possible both during the work and at the end of each day. Noise and disruption was also kept to a minimum. They also arrived on time each morning and kept us informed of exactly what would be happening each day so that we could plan our lives around the work. We were also very impressed with the contractors that Minton Young used right through from their architect and structural engineer to their electrician, roofer and decorator who were all a pleasure to work with. All in all we could not have been happier with our choice of builder and will have no doubts about using them again in the future or recommending them to friends and family.

Refurbishment of two bed room house
Close and constructive dialogue between Minton Young, the architect and us, lead to a result that we are happy with. Minton Young focused on finding and delivering solutions to our satisfaction. The quality of work was of good over all. The time Minton Young used on the project was as we expected, but somewhat longer than their own ambitious plan, but we are happy with that.

Ross was easy to get hold of and work with, did what he said he was going to do, helpful with ideas, calm and considerate and willing to do extra things that cropped up. There was a good atmosphere between all the different tradesmen, they were all hard working and courteous and Ross was always in control, on site and available when needed.

Loft extension

Having them in the house for this loft extension and convention was pure pleasure. They were part of the family after à week. They were friendly, always on time, very clean and the result is superb. We are very satisfied with our new first floor and the finishes are beautiful. An outstanding team for fantastic results.

Fitted new kitchen
Ross and his team provided an excellent service. Right through from advice during the design and decision making stage to getting a perfect finish - we could not have asked for more. They were punctual and considerate workers who ensured that the mess and disruption was kept to a minimum and who also kept us informed of exactly what was happening at all stages of the job. The finished kitchen was completed on time and on budget - says it all really! We are just about to move house now and will definitely be using them again on modifications to our new property.

Work was carried out to schedule and with a high level of quality. Communication was excellent throughout, involving us in decisions and keeping us up to date on challenges that arose during the project. The work areas were kept very tidy and did not affect other areas of the house. Neighbours also commented on the politeness of the men working at our property. When we requested changes to the original scope of works, these were done without complaint. Very good service all round.

Complete new bathroom fitted
We can't recommend Simon and Ross highly enough. They have done a fantastic job in fitting our new bathroom. They worked diligently and to high professional standard. They were very flexible, reliable and met all of our requirements. We would definitely use them again.
