His attention to detail were commendable and we especially liked his efforts to keep our home clean. This even extended to protecting our stair carpet which in all my years using tradesmen I have never seen. Its refreshing to see someone take as much care over not disrupting your home as they do to completing the work, Would not hesitate to recommend him

Paul carefully advised me on which replacement floor boards to use. He had to repair my sub floor which was done carefully and precisely.He is very knowledge about under floor heating - he recommended warmup which he fitted, carefully checking the circuit every morning and evening before and after work was done. I eventually choose some huge tiles from tile giant where Paul gets a reduction so he came with me to buy them! He spent a long time measuring and mapping out the best layout.The tiles were thick and strong but no match for his wet diamond cutting machine. He also did a great job with the dark grout I chose - messy job but looks great. Overall the job is fantastic - just don't leave chocolate hobnobs around in the kitchen when he's working!

Response from P Smith Tiling Services:
I am surprised by the customers comments as he was delighted with the finished floor when complete. The customer had already purchased the marble tiles prior to employing me to lay them. I dont think he realised when he bought them that any natural stone product varies in tone & shade throughout the batch and therefore it is important to mix them to get an even distribution. The customer suggested that I try & match the colours together during the install but I advised against this as it would result in a block colour change somewhere on the layout, which would look odd and is not the approach when laying any natural product. The customers comment regarding 'joining edges' refers to the infills on the edges of the tiles which are done during the manufacture. Most natural stone products have surface inperfections which are then filled with a cement or resin and then polished. As the tiles were of a lower quality this affected most of the batch and therefore impossible to avoid using them. In my opinion the floor was completed on time, on budget and to a very high standard.
