After been let down by one Plasterer, I was delighted Paul was able to quote for the work I required. He and his team arrived prompt and had started the work within 5 mins of arriving. All work was carried out to a very very high standard within the time frame given the whole team were polite and cheerful. I will use pauls services in the future as and when I want work doing and would highly recommend him to anybody.

As usual excellent work, reliable and punctual, lovely friendly chaps. They have done a lot of work in our house and we would recommend them to anyone. Price as quoted and cleaned up after themselves. A great job and just what we wanted. Paul's team worked all day lining the lounge wall and plaster boarding / skimming the whole of the lounge / dining room ceiling ( 24' x 9.5'). It amazed us how they managed to do it wall in the one day and the quality of the finish not sacrificed. All the lads were extremely polite and a pleasure to have around. Would definately use again.

Very, very good - did what they said when they said they were going to do it and at the agreed price. Easy to work with on larger projects when some variation to what was originally specified is required; very experienced so has seen it all before and can recommend what's best to do; good access to other trades (electrical / plumbing) and very fair / competative on pricing. WHY? 1 - He turns up when he says he will, 2 - Nothing phases him (or his team). 3 - All of the guys are polite and are first class tradesmen 4 - When some extra work was identified, he didn't change his original quote. 5 - Rooms were sheeted down and cleaned at the end of each day All in all, very happy with Paul, his guys and the standards they achieve.

I was given an estimate for the work on Friday 13th August, which I thought was OK so gave the go ahead for the work. Paul had a cancellation which allowed him to do the work on Monday, I was away until late Monday evening, so I gave him a key and the work was done whilst I was away. Upon return I found the work had been done to my entire satisfaction and Paul and his team had made every effort to clean up afterwards - never easy with plastering work. I'm more than satisfied with every aspect of his work and would recommend him highly to anyone.

This tradesman removed old plaster and render, but failed to return or contact us to re-render and re-plaster. This left us with bare brick walls and the additional cost and delay of finding another tradesman to re-render and re-plaster the wall.

Response from Paul Smith Plastering & Building:
In reply to the customer comments above; We were initially employed by this customer to remove some plasterboard and battens from the property. This work was completed and the customer seemed happy and paid in full. I then removed some damp rendering from the wall and advised the customer of these costs. The customer did not agree with the price charged and has never paid for this work. The customer then asked me to provide a quote to re-render the wall when the damp proofing was done. I have provided this quote, but have not heard anymore from them. I have carried out work for this customer for the last two years and feel sorry that it has ended this way.

The dining room in my house has curved stippled ceilings, an archway against the fire breast and had a bare brick fireplace. A very competitive price was quoted and we soon had his crew booked to do the job. The room looks so good now with a smooth ceiling and proper shaping to the arch that I built some years ago. The initial visit to quote was provided very promptly and a good price given, some £150 cheaper than another local company. Although a bit of mess was left in the back garden the important thing is that the walls are perfectly smooth. The plastering is to a high standard. We endeavour to do our best to ensure we leave the site clean as we would normally do, however plastering is a very dusty job to have done in your home as it leaves a fine dusty residue on shiny surfaces. If the customer had contacted me herself to say she was unhappy, I would have gladly returned to ensure total customer satisfaction but I was not given this opportunity. I was disappointed to see the customer has also commented on the quality of workmanship as we pride ourselves on the standard of our workmanship and repeated recommendations.
