PRESS RELEASE
It is a time of celebration for the owners and staff of Farnham based plumbing company Service Plus. Over one thousand of their satisfied customers have submitted feedback to Checkatrade.com, the place to find a trader.
Owner Matthew Brown was understandably delighted when Checkatrade informed him that Service Plus had achieved such an incredible milestone.
“I am thrilled to bits” he said. “We have all worked hard to ensure that our customers are happy with our service. I began this business as a “one man band” in 1999 during the last recession and now employ eight people in our Farnham offices. Our success is due in no small part to our association with Checkatrade. It beats other forms of advertising hands down!”
He went on, “Providing a complete service, giving satisfaction from the first contact with us through to completion of the job, is the key to not only attracting new customers but retaining them,” he said. “Prospective customers can see what our many happy clients have said about us on the Checkatrade website – they can even download a report on us – and this gives them peace of mind when choosing us.”
Matthew believes that as a result of the current recession, consumers are understandably very cautious when spending money on household maintenance, and choose those traders whom they can see have been recommended and vetted. “The Checkatrade system of continuous monitoring adds another level of confidence,” Matthew said.
Checkatrade founder and Managing Director Kevin Byrne said, “Service Plus is one of just a handful of our members who have achieved this prestigious landmark. We congratulate them and look forward to many more years partnering with such a
successful and reputable business.”

NOTES TO EDITORS
Checkatrade helps combat the UK's rogue trader problem by continuously vetting and monitoring local traders such as builders, plumbers and electricians. The idea was born in 1998 after a tornado hit the small West Sussex town of Selsey. Traders poured in from as far away as Liverpool and Manchester. Unfortunately, some ripped off the inhabitants of the town. Local businessman, Kevin Byrne, realised there was nowhere to check out the traders’ credentials and the company that became Checkatrade was formed.
Since then, Checkatrade has grown to include over 6,300 genuine trade members, growing by an average 120 new members every month, and, via the Royal Mail, distributes 5.9 million directories a year into communities throughout Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex, Dorset and Berkshire, while the website includes traders from across the UK.
