We had had trouble with our Cen.Htg for the past 18 months since having a new boiler installed by a previous person. We were without heating all during the cold weather until I was recommended to use Mr Lawes. Chris found a lot of faults made by the previous installer and also found that we had developed a leak somewhere downstairs(probably all the jet washing). As we have solid floors and microbore pipes we had to have it all repiped. This was done with mimimal upheaval and good humour and lots of tea by Chris and his sons. Heating is now fine and no further problems. We miss having them around.

Chris and his son were very prompt in responding to a boiler faliure call out. The problem was diagnosed and a replacement part was fitted. I was impressed with how Chris completed the job, he was very informative on what he was doing all the time he was here. His sense of humour was a delight! I would certainly recommend him as a trustworthy engineer.

The pilot light in the boiler at my address failed to ignite and after having another company come round and tell me that I needed a whole new boiler fitted (the current boiler is not even 6 years old!), Chris from Progas was recommended to me by a work colleague. During my initial call to Chris he was able to tell me what he believe was wrong with the boiler and how he was going to fix it. He arrived the very next day even though he stated that he was unsure he would have time to fit me in and after a short time he had diagnosed the problem, fitted a new part which he already had in his van and the boiler was up and running again having also had a thorough service. The end price was better than I could have expected and I would highly recommend this company to anyone. Thanks Chris!

Boiler fault reported in the flat I rent out to tenants - Estate Agent's recommended company quoted £5.4k inc vat for complete replacement of boiler, radiators, pipes etc as blockage could not be fixed! I called Progas as they previously installed a Glow Worm boiler in my house in 2008, they came within hours and fixed the problem - I highly recommend Progas!!

Chris and his son's are friendly, honest and hardworking. We had several quotes to get a new boiler installed but are so pleased we went with them (the price was very reasonable too!). They completed a new boiler install and new radiators in 2 days, we left them in our house whilst we were at work and were very impressed with the result. The new Ideal combi boiler they recommended is perfect and all pipe work is very neat, the house is so much warmer this winter. We have had a few other plumbing issues (not related to the new boiler) since the install and had no hesitation in using ProGas again. Highly recommended...

I had 6 quotes from Checkatrade before deciding on Chris and his Sons. Chris was the only one to be confident he could tackle the job even to the extent of building a stud wall and platform in the loft. He was able to re-assure by recommending that he would bring in a structural engineer if I was concerned by the added weight in the loft and his quote was bang on my expectations whereas others had priced themselves out significantly. It was important to me to find someone who took as much care with the things you couldn't see as the ones you could and I wasn't disappointed. Their pipe work was spot on and copper throughout, they even agreed to chase all pipe work into the walls. They also encouraged other trades to raise their game and their work received several comments. Chris kept me informed throughout and thought ahead to make other jobs I was doing easier. I would be happy to take any call and couldn't recommend them enough.

Initial quotation was carried out quickly and with very clear explanations, followed up by a written quote immediately after. Any questions were answered and installation was started exactly when agreed and done with the minimum of fuss and bother. I was even told in advance when the other trades would be arriving. Dust sheets were put down everywhere they walked and boiler was fitted perfectly. Quotation was very reasonable and far far less than British Gas. Wouldn't hesitate to use again

Prompt attendance, very knowledgeable, and a thoroughly professional approach to the work. Minimum mess made, and Chris made sure I knew exactly how to use the new filter. We needed a new central heating system because the previous one was very old. We called Chris and he came the same day and checked what we needed and sent us a quote the same day. He was able to start the work a few days later. Chris and his sons completed the work in the time they said it would take. We used Chris earlier this year for the replacement of a very unreliable boiler and we were so impressed with the level of service that we cancelled the contract with our then current service provider and decided to use Progas for all future requirements. We therefore called Progas when we had a leaking radiator which we thought might need replacing - however Chris came and fixed the problem without the need for any parts. He charged us a VERY reasonable price. It is such a pleasure to do business with Chris (Progas) - he is so professional, very genuine and always does his best to keep your costs to a minimum. Chris (and his sons) are simply great! I had to replace the boiler and called Chris and 2 other companies. Chris contacted me the same evening he came to see the work to be done, and sent me a very detailed quote. I had to call the other two companies to get the quotes from them. I finally chose Chris and get the appointment from him. He came at 8.30 that day, started to work and managed to finish 2 hours before he initially planned. And the quality of the work was excellent. Few months later I needed someone to do some pipe works in my bathroom. And after having contacted several companies, and "chased" them to get quote and appointment, I finally turned again to Chris. And again he sent me the quote and came for the work in very short time and the quality of the work was again excellent. Chris is without doubts the most reliable trade that has ever worked in my house. Highly recommended.

Chris was absolutely brilliant. We have had 9 years of problems with 2 boilers and wanted to make sure the replacement was going to be suitable and reliable. We had many quotes and many different recommendations. Progas was the only company to offer to come out to see us twice to ensure that we made the right decision. Chris personally researched several boilers for us and recommended one that ended up being a solution which was considerably cheaper than we were originally opting for. On the day the installation were trouble free and quick. Chris and his sons were so friendly and professional - trying to save us money every step of the way - very rare in this day and age. I will always go to this company in the future for all of our plumbing needs and I would not hesitate to recommend them.

From quotation to payment it's been a pleasure doing business with Chris and his team. Despite a change of order from quote and a different boiler being required last minute Chris managed to pull it off without complaint or additional costs other than those agreed. We decided to change the make, type and model of the boiler last minute and Chris's response is below. "The only difference from original quote is the boiler cost with flue Worcester flue is pricey compared to the Glowworm. We have fitted a Fernox version of the Magnaclean more expensive but as they did not have the Magnaclean they let us have it at same price it does the same but with a few more features and quite honestly better made. The glowworm boiler was re-stocked at no extra charge but the cylinder (brought from another supplier) was not the same however I have a job coming up next month that needs one so no worries we got round it all in the end. If you send the invoice off to Worcester (copy) you can increase the warranty to three years all parts and labour free of charge look on their site for scrappage details. The heat exchanger comes with a ten year warranty as standard provided a system filter is fitted." I would recommend Progas to anyone as they will go above and beyond.

We have had problems with our existing boiler for as long as we have been in our house (five years) and called upon Chris’ services following not very happy dealings with another local boiler company. Chris kept our boiler going for us, always putting himself out to come to us as soon as he is able following my calls of help and so Progas Mechanical Services were the only people we considered to fit us with a replacement boiler.
