We had cleared room of non-fitted carpet and most furniture before they arrived (easier than anticipated!). They arrived promptly. Gas connection made and floor-board replaced neatly. New gas/coal effect fire fitted in neatly. Original hood and tile surround retained. Site left clean and tidy. Without coal hods, tongs, poker...for an open fire this room now looks more spacious. Quite amazing!

This is the second fireplace I have had fitted and I have to say Peter is the best tradesman I've had in my home for quality and ease. Peter and his daughter did a fab job as I expected, I just wish he did more than fireplaces, they're a great team.

Their main competitor was not interested in following up on the job which they obviously felt too small despite having worked for us in the past. We are extremely pleased with the work both in terms of its craftsmanship and aesthetic qualities. Mr McMullen turned up promptly and completed the work very efficiently, finishing earlier that he'd expected - a fact that was reflected in the final bill which was lower than the original estimate! Both the room and the outside area where the slate cutting was done were thoroughly cleaned. We're very glad to have found Pyromania, and would heartily recommend them.

Peter came and did a temporary fitting of the fire before Christmas (in the snow) so that we were not without a fire over Christmas and the New Year. He then came and collected a part for repair and finally fully fitted the fire and chimney caps. We would have no hesitation in recommending him. We are really pleased. Excellent job, delivered on time and cost. It looks beautiful, and works very well. Our boiler was out of action yesterday and the fire kept us toasty and happy. Must mention in particular the good collection of reclaimed tiles which no one else seemed to have, and Peter didn't mind me spending ages choosing between them. We've been wanting to do this for a few years but because its expensive have taken a while to get round to it. Now wish we had done it ages ago!

Due to lack of proper investigation/planning the fire place ordered was not able to be installed and left considerable damage to the masonry and plaster work. Another fire was chosen and installation one month later. This work was completed in a rushed and inaccurate manner, resulting in the fire place surround becoming loose and lopsided. Additionally, Peter did not specify that the model of the fire place installed was different to the model requested. I will not use Pyromania again.

This report in no way reflects the work. The customer ordered his second choice of fireplace through our company by phone, and he received exactly what he asked us for. The fire was fitted in a correct, safe and tidy manner, and no time was I discourteous. No complaint was made to me, or any other channel. (such as Trading Standards or Gas Safe) except to Checkatrade. The customer has not called in anyone to assess the work, I feel his claim lacks credability.
