“Please learn from our mistake entrusting Removals of Berkshire with our belongings, and use an accredited company instead. Removals of Berkshire said they would use a 18t vehicle, instead they turned up in a 7.5t self-hire van which resulted in our belongings being stacked higher than the men loading it, resulting in items being broken. Subsequently, they’ve totally ignored our communications asking how the damages will be recompensed. They processed our credit card deposit via a third party medical company, the implications are there’s no come back against the trader. On request they promised to refund to our credit card and correctly process via the removals company but it was never refunded. They were due to unload at 10am but arrived 12.30pm which meant they rushed unloading. They ignored their own T&Cs that state full payment is due at the end of the day on completion of your removals, instead they insisted on payment before unloading, otherwise the manager wouldn’t permit the men to unload. As they have all your belongings on board we had no choice but to accept their blatant abuse of their own T&Cs. Despite repeated requests they won’t provide a VAT receipt.”

Response from Removals of Berkshire:
In response to this complaint . We are sorry the customer feels this way . However we wouldn't send an 18 Ton lorry to a job that doesn't require a vehicle of that size . A 7.5 Ton vehicle was more than suitable for the move . With regards to damages and compensation to the best of my knowledge we to date have not received any details, pictures or notification of the damaged goods . The credit card payment was fully discussed with the customer and we did agree to refund the customer but on the day of the discussion the customer agreed not to worry. We no longer take card payments. With regards to unloading the vehicle by 10 am. We undertook a journey that was approx a 4 hour drive. We get from A to B to safest way possible on such a long journey delays are always possible . With regards to the T&C it was around this time we changed our T&C this may have been an oversight on our part. Finally with regards to vat receipt we are happy to provide .
