Richard is very professional. Work was done to a very high standard and completed quickly and efficiently. He not only fitted a very heavy front door but also fitted all the furnishings to it (weather board, letterbox flaps, knocker, numbers, etc). The interior work was carried out in the same professional manner. We would definitely employ him again and recommend him wholeheartedly.

Excellent service from start to finish! His prices are very competitive, he wore shoe covers to protect our carpets, he was polite and helpful, the work was carried out quickly and efficiently to a very high standard, he even vacuumed the drive! Will be recommending to friends and family.

I cannot fault the work. The carpenter arrived on time. He did a great job and cleaned up well. I was charged the minimum price from the range quoted. I have 4 more doors to be hung and would definitely use this company again.

Everything in our kitchen (flooring included) was installed perfectly, including. Oak worktops, corner units, inset sink and a couple of appliances housed (plus some shelving, and box work). We can certainly vouch for his very high quality of workmanship, which far exceeded our expectations. Richard is undoubtedly a very skilled craftsman. I would not hesitate to recommend his company and we will be definitely calling on his services again in the near future.

In July 2012 we requested a quote to fit 9 internal doors. We purchased the doors and all fittings needed we already had the door handles. In August 2012 we were verbally given a quote and paid the deposit requested. In October 2012 we were asked to pay for doors and hinges direct to manufacturer which we did. On the 19th October 2012 the trader arrived with no materials, half the day was lost getting them. Kept leaving to see wife. The trader advised us that he would not varnish the doors. On the 22nd October 2012 when the work was complete, we disputed the final bill. We found that the garage and drive was left in total mess. We received phone calls from the trader advising us that he would take legal action, we were not happy with his attitude. We had paid for the materials and disputed the labour cost. We offered a payment figure but received notification from the trader of intended court proceedings within 7 days. In the end a figure was agreed with the trader, I feel that I could not recommend him.

Response from R.G.Carpentry:
Customer wanted doors supplied and fitted. I sourced doors after trying three suppliers. Customer already had handles/locks. I gave estimate for fitting (labour). Customer then wanted one door to be more secure, I advised thicker door and locks but would cost more. I ordered doors and took deposit cheque to supplier. Before delivery, I contacted Customer and they now wanted new hinges in addition. I ordered these and customer paid supplier (at cost). Delivered without screws, supplier error so had to purchase these and locks required. Invoiced Customer for extra locks and screws, customer refused to pay this and labour because price had increased and didn’t want to pay more! Price was slightly more because the Customer chose a more expensive door and extra for ironmongery they didn’t have. Customer told me very happy with my work. I acted upon Customer’s instructions. Customer made no attempt to resolve and I had to contact them several times until they finally paid part of my invoice. Varnishing mentioned when job finished. Three tea breaks over three days. Packaging from doors left in garage. I cut old doors up and stacked neatly at side of drive. I am honest and a reliable professional who takes pride in their work and put this down to unclear expectations and unfair comments.
