I quoted a price for this customer to replace an existing faulty shower pump. The customer had acquired a second hand pump which he said was guaranteed to work, however on completing the job this pump was found to be faulty. I then had to return to replace the pump again ( at the weekend as he insisted he had guests staying ). with a new pump which turned out to be the cheapest pump available on the market. The pump was replaced and left In working order, and no extra labor was charged ( or offered ) despite me having to do the job twice. I then received a call the following week saying there was a leak in the bathroom. I Informed the customer that this leak could have nothing to do with the work carried out as the bathroom was at the opposite side of the house to where the pump had been replaced, nothing had been touched in the bathroom, and the new cheaper pump was less powerful than the old pump. I advised that I would unfortunately not be able to attend to the problem as I was busy on another job I could not get out of ( as I had other tradesmen relying on me completing the work), and advised that another plumber should be contacted to look at the unrelated leak. The customer then said the new pump was faulty, at which point I advised him to contract the manufacturers who will send out an engineer in such cases as I am unable to take a pump apart without Invalidating the pump guarantee. This is how it was left until I received this feedback from the customer and used my ROR . All I would like to point out to future customers Is my previous 250+ feedbacks and say that we strive to assure that our customers are alway happy with the workmanship.
