I bought a new sink and tap and booked John to remove the existing fittings and plumb in the new items - but I hadnt realised that the connectors weren't right for UK pipes. John solved the problem without any fuss. He did a very tidy job and as always gave great attention to detail. This is the third job John has done for us (previously 2 bathrooms) and I would definitely recommend him.

John changed our bath for a shower fitted new toilet and sink units stripped out all old tiles and retiled top to bottom. Because the window was not central in the room and not square he had to knock out the plaster round the window and re-plaster to make it square so that the tileing looked good. We now have a bathroom to be proud of and all visitors are impressed with the quality. An exceptionally very good job.

John was extremely professional in his approach and very happy to discuss ideas so that we got the end product we wanted. Throughout the work there was a 'can do' attitude and practical solutions were found to any problems. Some details of the project evolved during the work and there were some additional items requested by us which John took in his stride and priced fairly. John Cousins installed my bathroom and I was so pleased with the work that I asked John to fit my kitchen. John dismantled and removed the old kitchen and installed new cupboards/cooker/extractor fan/washing machine/fridge plus tiling. Any snags with the installation John found solutions to. I am extremely pleased with the work and would highly recommend Riva. Later this year I want two bedroom cupboards made and wouldn't think of asking anyone else to carry out the work.

After reading all John's reviews we decided he would be the person to alter our bathroom for us which was not a straight forward job and needed some good ideas. Well John has come up with all we wanted in ideas and now all complete with old bath removed completely and a new shower in its place. We had more things also changed round and John was able to come up with suitable ideas. He kept tidy each day - budget was kept to and we are very thankful to have had him to do this job. Would highly recommend him for his work and his kind and helpful manner.

Can't praise John enough. He has completely revamped my kitchen with his lateral thinking. It evolved as it went along, John made suggestions and I was able to change my mind - within reason - and I have ended up with a kitchen that surpassed all my expectations. Everything was done to ensure I had the kitchen I wanted. He turned up every day on time, he cleaned up every day before he left. We would thoroughly recommend him.

Riva was very helpful on the phone with his advice then managed to fit me in the same morning that I called. He arrived promptly, was courteous, helpful and extremely tidy. The work was carried out quickly and efficiently and he gave me further advice on prevention of similar circumstances in future. This was a job that badly needed doing and I had been putting off for a number of years. The work went very well considering that it was at the time of the heavy snow just before Christmas. I wasn't looking forward to the inconvenience of being without a bathroom but I was left with a WC at all times, this soon went and I have a lovely up to date bathroom with a shower unit that I love. I would use John again and recommend him to others.

Really pleased! Existing plumbing turned out to be much trickier than expected but was no problem for John to sort. Always on time, always left the place spotless and really helpful with making all the decisions about sanitary ware, taps and tiling etc. Definitely recommend to others and have already booked him back in to replace my bathroom.

We had trouble with cistern flushing in the downstairs toilet. Close coupled unit necessitating getting access, demount cistern, removing old traditional flushing unit and replacing with chosen Fluidmaster system. This part of the work went smoothly but there were peripheral problems ... No isolation valve on the unit, so water had to be turned off at main cock under the sink - first time for many years, and the spindle sheared off, so off to the mains cock by the (external) water meter. Opening the access lid, the chamber was full to the brim with a very active ant colony. After removal of the ants, the water was turned off and Mr. Cousins fetched a replacement cock for under the sink. Of course, this had metric threads and the in situ one was Imperial. This meant cutting the inlet pipe to replace the union and then making good. All in all, a lot of trouble for a routine job, but completed well and everything left clean and tidy. Completed for a price I considered very modest for the amount of effort that had been involved. The new Fluidmaster unit has complete access from inside the cistern, gives a really energetic short flush and can be adjusted for various levels of water saving. Note: Operate your mains cock at least once a year to be sure it hasn't seized!

John did a complete job from stripping out the old fittings/tiles and replacing the ceiling to the final touches in the new shower room. He listened to me and gave me good advice on everything from the design and layout to sourcing of fittings and tiles. He has a great eye for detail and I am really pleased with the end result.

When John came to give me a quote and suggested ideas for a new bathroom I immediately thought this was someone who knew what he was talking about and on no occasion during the time that the work took place was I disappointed. All the work from tiling to lighting to installation of the bathroom suite was completed in a most professional manner. Nothing was too difficult or too much trouble for John and now that the bathroom has been completed I can see nothing that can be improved on. I am delighted with the work and would highly recommend John.
